Lorkhan's Role to the DunmerChimer

Post » Sat Nov 01, 2014 1:09 am

Hello everyone! I'm currently working on a pet theory of mine and I was hoping to find some information here regarding the Dunmeri/Chimeri view of Lorkhan. Anything's helpful, concrete information as well as inferences made based on other factors in their belief (Just provide some reasoning rather than just posting it like it's fact) Thanks for reading, hopefully you have something for me.

I'm not sure what you're meaning. All I know after Almalexia, Vivic, and Sotha Sil used Lorkhan's Heart to become the Tribunal Gods and broke their oath to Azura, did she then turn all the Chimer into Dark Elves. Not much that Lorkhan had to do with that, that I know of.

Just 3 individuals broke their oath to Azura and used Lorkhan's heart to gain god hood or divinity. That's pretty much it as far as I know.

Other than that the Dunmer feel that Lorkhan is some sort of obstacle and blame for their mortality. I'm not entirely sure why.

I'm asking for any information one might have regarding how Lorkhan is viewed by the Dunmer and their Predecessors, the Chimer.

Do you have a source for this? I know the Altmer claim that view; however, I've always been under the impression that the Chimer, in the Velothi Exodus, undertook a complete reversal philosophically- Switching from the Aedra to the Daedra and consequently turning to the mannish viewpoint on Lorkhan, that the creation of the Mundus is a gift not a trick. (Something illustrated further in the intense Lorkhanic influence in the 36 Sermons)

The Dunmer don't view Lorkhan badly because they don't consider themselves to be descended from the Aedra. They see their mortality as a challenge unlike the Altmer. However the Altmer hate Lorkhan because they feel he tricked the other divines into giving up their divinity.

If you really want a link to learn more about Lorkhan, than look to it here. It has a lot of what you're looking for.
