Fallout 4 Speculation, Suggestions and Ideas #230

Post » Wed Nov 05, 2014 4:02 pm

This thread is so that we can keep all the discussion, rumors and speculation in one place.
This topic is for a friendly discussion of ideas and suggestions for Fallout 4.
We all have opinions about what the next game should have and should not have. Each of us has the right to express that opinion freely. There are points we agree on and points we do not agree on. This means that people are going to disagree with you on some things. Accept that and move on. No need to beat your point so far into the ground that no one wants to look at it any more.
At moderator discretion, threads about specific and distinct topics as they relate to FO4 and the rest of the Fallout series may be acceptable in the Fallout Series forum. General idea/suggestion topics for a future Fallout game will either be closed, or moved to this one.
This thread should be used to discuss items you'd like to see in a future game, gameplay tweaks, quest ideas, things you hope are not in the next game and so on. If you want to discuss major issues, use a separate topic - such as the discussion about adding multi-player or co-op play, which already has a thread. Please search first to see if there is an active/recent thread on a particular topic.

Something to note. Discussions of Child Killing is not allowed on these boards. Don't even bring it up in this thread. It won't happen in any future game from Bethesda, so there is no reason to even discuss it. If you post about this subject, you may be Warned and or Banned from the boards for doing so.

This is also not a thread to discuss current or past Fallout Games, other than to mention an aspect of the game you want to see included, or not included, in a future Fallout game.

Tactical combat with the player not able to simply cut through hordes of enemies.

-Camouflage options (combine with survival and stealth skills)
-Lockable doors
-Explosives that can be attached to doors or other points of interest
-Ambushes
-Unarmed uses kung fu styles to better control enemies
-Melee combat has way more options (melee like unarmed has unlockable moves+special ones for each weapon)
-return of DT along with DR
-non-human enemies have unique individual combat styles

-the most important point: Your enemies should have the same options you do. We need a very good AI.

AwesomePossum in the previous thread: - sorry I can't actually do multiquote

These are the guys at the top of ZeniMax?

Anyhow, it's not them specifically that are trying to cash in but the people actually day-to-day running the business part of things.

As for suggestions:

1. don't cut too many skills

2. don't remove SPECIAL, make it work better instead

3. an actual living and breathing world - actually make me feel like I am in warzone / wilderness / important settlement

4. more focus on writing (especially factions, characters)

5. no big name voice actor who will ask for half the game's budget just to say five lines

6. don't go overboard with the filler enemies

That's all I can think about for the moment.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZeniMax_Media

The company's Board of Directors consists of 8 individuals:

  • Robert A. Altman (Chairman & CEO)
  • Ernest Del (President)
  • Jerry Bruckheimer (Jerry Bruckheimer Films)
  • Michael Dominguez (Managing Director, Providence Equity Partners Inc.)
  • Leslie Moonves (President & CEO, CBS Corporation)
  • Cal Ripken, Jr (President & CEO, Ripken Baseball, Inc.)
  • Harry E. Sloan (Chairman, Silver Eagle Acquisition Corp; former Chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer).
  • Robert S. Trump (President, Trump Management, Inc.; brother of Donald Trump)

Where do you thing Bethesda get all thier massive wads of dosh?

I agree with all of this, especiallt #3 and 5.

I can't agree with this enough. It never ceases to amaze me how much money development studios blow on big name celebrities who don't deliver half the performance a good voice actor could have for a quarter of the cost. Television/film acting and voice acting are completely different professions which require completely different skill sets - most television and film actors put little to no effort into voice work because they either don't understand this, or don't care. Either way they expect to be paid a lot for their mediocre performances.

Could this be the reason why most Bethesda games have glitches because they give their dev teams budgets, and so the reason why each game has a crap load of bugs and doesn't fix all of them is because they went over budget on junk idea's such as this so they can't afford to waste time fixing all of the glitches perhaps?

They didn't hire any really famous people as VAs in Skyrim, did they? At least no one like Liam Neeson or Patrick Stewart.

Although the junk ideas might have been all the radiant stuff in Skyrim. Then again I don't know how much money they could possibly blow on that.

Max von Sydow was Esbern

Christopher Plummer was Arngier

Michael Hogan was general Tullius

I know Paarthunax was voiced by the guy who does Mario..... as in the Mario from the mario games Mario, but hes not like super expensive.

Lynda Carter, aka Wonder Woman, voiced Azura and gormlaith, though shes married to Zenimax's CEO, so she was probably pretty cheap also, or she may have done it for free.
