Merging .esp into .esm

HI all,

I've been working on mod that extends Solitude but it is becoming so big that the CK is getting a pain in the ass to work with, more then usual. Freezes are occuring much more frequently and the thing is much slower in general. After looking the issue up I found out that the size of the .esp is getting too big and that I'd need to convert it into an .esm. The problem is that this is completely unknown territory for me. I was hoping I could get some more information about converting and merging here.

The mod itself is landscaping wise for 90% done. I still want to go over the whole area just to make sure it looks perfect but it could be released in this state. If I convert it to an .esm, will I run into any problems? The same goes for the exterior navmeshes, about 90% done but some tweaks are still needed.

I still need to work on many of the Interiors and the corresponding navmeshes. I have 3 shops already (yay) but I couldn't really make progress because that's when the CK started to act weird because of it's "awesome" coding. Then I of course also need to create NPC's with packages.

To get to the point of this post, will I run into any trouble merging the stuff that still needs to be done? I am a bit hesitant converting my file into an .esm because I remember reading something that the .esm only saves landscape changes and that I would need to clutter the whole region all over again. Same goes for the navmeshes. Of course this is information obtained from a random internet site so that's why I ask it here just to be sure.

Thanks,

Rilax
