Basically, I'm trying to find a way to better understand the Wild Hunt and see if there are any connections to be made. A possible theory of mine is the Ouze. The primal Wild Hunt - Bosmer that refused to give up their shape-shifting abilities and accept the Green Pact, were imprisoned in the Ouze. Now, the Ouze was no mere tar pit. According to legend, the Ouze was what remained of the formlessness from which Y'ffre gave the world shape. The Bosmer who violate the Green Pact would be sunken into the Ouze, where their souls would be imprisoned.
Now, the Ouze, being from which all things were shaped from, seems somewhat like chaotic creatia. When Bosmer do shift into the Wild Hunt, they return to the formlessness of the Ouze, a creature or creatures with no shape, driven by a single, evolutionary purpose. When the Wild Hunt perishes, usually by devouring itself until a single champion of the Hunt remains, what happens then? A single creature, something between a Bosmer and a shape-shifting beast, simply roams the world, seemingly immortal? Well, the Wild Hunt is supposed to be the source of all monsters. But when such a beast dies, does it return to the Ouze, and if it does, could it be released by one favored by the Green? Or if it is killed by another champion of the Hunt, does it somehow absorb its essence, becoming stronger, even allowing it to shape-shift to a degree?
Also, Hircine also has a "Wild Hunt" and the Bosmer are supposedly tempted by Hircine. Could there be a connection between the Wild Hunt and Hircine beyond this naming? Especially if the theory of the Ouze functioning like chaotic creatia holds any water. Hircine's gift is the gift of a second form, the Wild Hunt is the gift of both no form and many forms.
