Depends on the game and genre. However if generally given a choice (like in say, Skyrim), I tend to prefer first person.

When doing stuff (combat, etc.) I prefer first person, but for just walking around I like third person. So in summary I like both.

Definitely third person, can't stand the wobbly arms view. I also like to be able to see my characters complete outfit after spending endless hours creating it and actually don't buy games that are only first person view.

90% of the time I prefer third person, the only exception being in TES games, at which point I much prefer first person. It feels awkward walking around in TES games in third person for me.

In general, I can play both without preferring any over the other. In the case of Bethesda games that have both available as an option, I mainly stick to first person and only sometimes go to third person while I'm only wondering around. More immersive for me I guess.

I always play in third-person. When I roleplay I am not my character. I don't want to see the world through my character's eyes.

i find that third person gets in the way. seeing my PC means that i see less of the game world. in one game which was third person, i was attacking myself. hard to sometimes tell which pixels were my PC.

first person, especially in Bethesda games. In other games i guess it depends on the genre. I like first person shooters over third, it makes the aiming easier for me

I for one wouldn't actually buy Bethesda's next game if it was 1st person only, does anyone else feel that way? Would the 1st person fans buy it if it was only 3rd person?

The first person view is what actually got me interested in oblivion, i'd let them know that i didn't like it through the forum (like what was done with eso) and hopefully they would add it back in.

If the game was made around third person, and first person would ruin it for whatever reason i guess i'd still enjoy it, just not as much
