--The Elder Scrolls VI: Empire
The history of "TES VI: Empire" begins with events almost immediately after events in Skyrim. With the death of the Emperer by the hand of the Dark Brotherhood in 4E201 the Empire is thrown into chaos. After a brief period of strife and infighting of the Elder Council, the Thalmor establish a Potentate over the Empire, gaining complete control of Cyrodiil. But the high generals of the Legion are finally fed up with their Elven overlords and after the years of secret preparation attempt a coup. This coup is successful and the Imperial City is retaken by the combined forces of all the Legions in Cyrodiil and the Thalmor are imprisoned, enslaved, or killed. The Thalmor can not stand for this and immediately prepare for an invasion of Cyrodiil once again. The Legions at Imperial City call for all able-bodied persons to come and defend the heart and pride of the Empire. Thousands flock to the Imperial City and plans are drawn. This, it seems, is man's last stand on Tamriel.
The Thalmor sweep across Cyrodiil from all directions. Destroying and burning the towns of Kvatch, Bravil, Leyawiin, and Cheydinhall, as the Legions have abandoned them for the defense of Imperial City. The Thalmor have grown immensely during the "peace" of the White-Gold Concordant, while the Empire has languished and weakened and their morale is at its lowest point. However, the hearts of Men are strong, and they prepare to fight against Mer, or die defending their ancient homeland.
The siege of Imperial City lasts years. Skirmishes and rallies are fought constantly. It is remarkable how long Men lastas against the Mer; only possible because of the tactical genius of the Legions' best generals, its finest soldiers and the strength of their hearts.
The strength of Man's defense prompts the Thalmor to recall troops from Skyrim, weaking their presence in that province. The Nords, under the command of a young and strong High King and unbiased to the outcome of the Civil War decades ago, take advantage of this opportunity and rally the fierce warriors of Skyrim along with the last remaining Legion in Tamriel to drive out the weakened Thalmor forces from the homeland of Men. The Thalmor are upset at this unexpected turn of events but press on to their ultimate goal of finally destroying the Empire before it regrows and again subjegates Tamriel.
In one final battle, The Thalmor enter the city; taking it district by district. After days of culmination, White-Gold tower is taken once again and the generals and survivors of the Legion are executed on the spot. The Empire is given no mercy this time. It takes no time for the Thalmor to establish full dominion over Cyrodiil, and they also absorb High Rock. Executions and inquisitions rule the day. Any civilian survivors are deported to Skingrad, which has been converted into a prison camp. The Empire, standing for thousands of years, has fallen; this time with no hope of revival.
And so Tamriel stands divided; Hammerfell has closed its borders and withdrawn into the vast desert to protect itself. Blackmarsh also withdraws into the safety of the swamps, leaving Morrowind behind. Morrowind remains neutral in this latest conflict, but some leaders expect the kinship to the Altmer to allow peace and independence. The Thalmor have established their Elven Dominion over Summerset Isle, Valenwood, Eleswyr, High Rock, and Cyrodiil. Skyrim stands alone as the last bastion of free Man in the Empire. Their borders have been shut and they wait. Rumors fly that Skyrim is as a Sleeping giant, growing in secret, and waiting to once again pour out the wrath of Man against Mer.
But all is not lost. The Scrolls have foretold this. And they have also foretold that balance and the righteous rule of Man will be restored to Tamriel by the strength and valor, of a Hero...
--Notations on idea of "Empire"
- Timeline is not yet set, but game begins roughly 50 years after events in Skyrim, with the taking of Imperial City happening roughly 10 years before the beginning of "Empire"
- The Legion can be in Skyrim regardless of Civil War outcome from "Skyrim" because the new High King is loyal to the Empire and when the Thalmor destroy the Empire the High King:
-Stormcloaks- Sways the Jarls and people of Skyrim to forget old bias and rally to the cause of uniting as Man under the banner of the Empire.
-Imperial- No explanation needed.
- You could travel between Summerset Isle and Cyrodiil. The continents would be placed on two separate disks; put in the Cyrodiil disk when you travel to Cyrodiil, Summerset when you travel to Summerset. I have no idea how to make a video game so I'm just saying this because you could have maximum amount of content with two separate disks. Instead of putting it onto one disk and reducing quality. But I don't know if multiple disks is even necessary with technology these days. Anyway.
- Cyrodiil would be a completely different area from what you are used to. It would be a much darker and more dreary place. Imperial City would be in shambles; holes in the walls, rubble, that kind of thing. Anvil would be a naval port with a small internment camp for the transport of Imperial slaves. Kvatch would be deserted. Skingrad would be a huge internment camp for Imperial slaves; not much here. Bravil and Leyawiin would be destroyed and instead there would be one naval port at Topal Bay that would be a trade hub and naval defense point. Cheydinhall would be deserted/destroyed. Bruma would be turned into a massive fortress to defend/attack against Skyrim.
- Cyrodiil would have both structured quests and free roaming with more of an emphasis on free roaming and exploring the wilderness. Cities would obviously be patrolled by Elves.
- Summerset would have both structured quests and free roaming with more of an emphasis on the structured quests.
- Dragonborn could be implemented in-game with either you creating the version of Dragonborn you want with what armor and weapons he will use or importing your character data from Skyrim to have YOUR Dragonborn in-game.
--Major Plot Points for "Empire"
1. Escape from prison
2. Collect powers/artifacts from the Gods and the past heroes of Tamriel, ie. Eternal Champion, Agent, Nerevarine, Champion of Cyrodiil, Dragonborn
3. Collaboration with Legion from Skyrim to take back Cyrodiil
4. Military campaign to defeat Elven forces in Cyrodiil
5. Retake Imperial City, battle against powerful generals of Thalmor
6. Travel to Summerset, gain favor from opposing Altmer political parties
7. Military campaign against Thalmor forts, cities
8. Attack on Alinor, fight through Thalmor forces, engage high generals of the Thalmor
9. Battle in mortal combat with "Herself" (leader of Thalmor is a woman, right? Correct me if I'm wrong)
