MGSO 3.0 - Enhancing the Eye Candy Further

Post » Tue Nov 18, 2014 10:27 am

I've been critically examining the graphically-enhanced world of Morrowind thanks to MGSO 3.0 and am impressed with the result. However, I have noticed a few areas missed by MGSO and wanted to know if others have successfully enhanced the look of Morrowind further and how they did it.

Things I've noticed/changed thus far:

1. The Hlaalu Buttresses in Balmora still look low-res in comparison with the bump mapped exterior walls;

2. The hanging moss in Balmora is still low-res;

3. I went with the Balmora mage guild floor and door handle textures from Morrowind Visual Pack - personal preference but I think the handle is a higher resolution than the MGSO texture and looks more interesting too;

4. Does MGSO use a 512k version of Darknut's Better Clothes texture? I downloaded a 1024k version which I'm using;

5. Caverns bump mapped is a great alternative to the lichen-y cave walls of the textures used in MGSO.

I haven't mentioned meshes, animations and lighting as I haven't compared any yet but if you've made improvements there I'd be keen to know what you used.

...my weapon http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43120/? andhttp://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43077/? and my http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42586/? http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/42784/?. :whistling:

Oh, and the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1496399-wipzrelz-improved-meshes-weapons-armor-parts/ instead of the "Detailed Armor" meshes included in MGSO - more to come.

Everything by http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/searchresults/?src_order=1&src_sort=0&src_view=1&src_tab=1&src_language=0&src_auth=lougian&src_showadvlt=1&page=1&pUp=1(you've already found the caverns by yourself) - well, almost everything. I don't use the landscape textures (though they also seem to be good) and the scum texture, but that's your decision.

There's a lot more, but I'm afraid I don't have the time right now and I'm just leaving for a few weeks. But it's a start. :wink:
