[Req] Meshes that need updating?

Post » Sat Nov 22, 2014 8:50 am

Hi,

I'm currently trying to practice my modelling skills. I've been making weapons but I thought I would try to replace some in-game content. So, I set out to find some meshes that need replacing (I use MGSO). However, I can't find any that don't seem to already be replaced.

My question is, are there any meshes left that haven't been replaced I'm trying to avoid armor, body, clothes, architecture, and other complex meshes like that for the moment. So, if you can think of any misc., static, or other meshes that need some work done, please post them here so that I can try my hand at it.

Thanks :)

I can't seem to find a replacer for:

Misc_Com_Pitcher_Metal_01

What about the limeware stuff? I haven't seen a replacer for them either.

Has anyone ever redone the model for the piles of ash that defeated ghosts turn into? I always thought it looked a little unloved compared to a modded everything else.

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but I was recently looking for nice picks, probes and armorer hammers replacer, but those I found usually had some issues. So you might try out that :)

I know you said no armour....

http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=324682#324682 by Gnomey over at Tamriel Rebuilt describes a little problem with the bonemold_chuzei_helm model.

I'm no expert but I believe it to be a relatively simple change that's needed (changing the position of the helmet on the Z axis), but I don't know whether that's something which is easy to do or not.

If it could be done (and permission was there) we'd look to add it into the gestating Unofficial Morrowind Patch.

If you do find stuff, please try to keep the extent of the object the same as the original.

I work with TR, and we currently only use Vanilla models - I'd like to allow out modelers to use some of the nicer models out there, but the extent and axis positioning need to be the same as the Vanilla.

I do have plans to go through a bunch of the mods out there to see who kept the extents the same. (ie just replaced textures)

We at TR have some modeling work needed. One project I am just starting is fixing and/or adding RCNs (collision meshes) to our many many models. So if that interests you stop by, and either PM me or catch me in the chat room.

Thanks

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the ideas and I will start working on some.

This was a simple and quick fix, so here is a link. I posted it on TESNexus for everything else to use as well.

EDIT: sorryhttp://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/43346/?

I'm interested in this, but I can not make any type of commitment to a team. I'm at uni and my schedule fluctuates too wildly. I'll be glad to help some though. I'll send you a PM once I get some models knocked out.

I redid their textures, though I'd be interested in redoing the meshes, and giving them a subtle reflection map too. Not sure when I'd get around to this though.
