Are the Aedra Conscious?

The title is fairly self-explanatory.

I've read people say that the Aedra are spheres of ideas and are not sentient at all. Then again, I've also read that they do have some form of consciousness.

So, what are they? Either? Or? Both?

After they sundered themselves at creation, they were put into a state of unconsciousness. They aren't as aware as the Daedra who stayed whole, but there is evidence of them acting with direction, like the creation of the Dragonborn, or the acts of the Shezarrine.

They are susceptible to the wants and wills of mortals and are able to be shaped by them, unlike the Daedra, which is how the many pantheons exist and can all be true at once, despite contradictions. They can act through people, as shown by the priests of Mara receiving visions of those looking for love from her. The Aedra are able to send incarnations of themselves to Mundus in the form of avatars, of which there were several in Morrowind.

So perhaps not sapient like the Daedra, but definitely sentient.

So then it's more like they are semi-conscious, while the Daedra are fully conscious?
