Unlike my failed dwemer sabrecat project... I have something far more simple, yet far more satisfying. It only took me a few hours, to retexture a netch to make a genuinely dwemery automaton looking one, for a dwemer netch follower, something I've wanted a very very very very long time.
Here's some pictures, starting with imo the best pictures. The player come journey through a dwemer ruin, where they see lesser dwemer netches fighting against other dwemer machines. This follower when complete, will have the player sent on a tiny quest, the player will see a seemingly dead dwemer netch named Jelly The Netch with a note nearby, mentioning how Jelly has a rival dwemer automaton armed with a crossbow, that also had control over other automatons, that resulted in the dwemer netch hiding somewhere in hibernation mode after taking severe damage. The note will explain how Jelly The Netch is a more advanced version of the lesser dwemer netches, and ask the player to kill this rival of Jelly, so that Jelly can come out of hibernation mode, to use the parts of said rival dwemer machine to self repair, and then become an optional follower, also leaving behind a "thank you note" after that is said and done.
(Yes the netch has no opposable thumbs, hands, but extremely advanced intelligence+those very flexible tentacles, it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to me).
Because the netch can't wear gear, Jelly will have 50 more health than Lydia by default but also level with the player, and fittingly enough have an electric melee attack, as well as all the resistances/keywords that dwemer automatons have. So anyways- just testing the dwemer netch alone right now... Works almost perfectly... Only problem is this netch seems to get stuck a lot of times, on anything that isn't wide open terrain. And yes, I made this netch a LOT smaller than the vanilla ones.
I also tried using setscale commands to see if it helps Jelly fit through certain places, and making the netch larger, smaller, and in varying amounts didn't help either. Can someone please tell me what you suspect is causing this problem, and how to fix it?
