I tried launching it from both Steam & the exe, but it would not load. I then tried (stupidly) copying & pasting all of the CK files into my Skyrim install folder on the other drive © thinking that would fix it as many people have said to INSTALL (NOT copy) the Creation Kit into the Skyrim install directory but it still wouldn't work. I even added:
bAllowMultipleMasterFiles (something like that) in the SkyrimEditior.ini as well as Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa & Dragonborn.bsa but that still hasn't done anything.
Some people have said that reinstalling the Creation Kit may help, but apparently uninstalling it removes Skyrim as well. So I obviously haven't done that.
Steam still thinks that the CK is installed on my D drive. I now know that I should've installed it in my Skyrim installtion folder in drive C to start with. (I didn't know that at the time). :/
If I try to 'delete local files' (uninstall) the Creation Kit via Steam, it says it will 'remove ALL CK content on the WHOLE COMPUTER' instead of just the drive where it's actually installed on.
It's really annoying because while I actually have it installed on Drive D, I have the 'copied' CK files inside my Skyrim Data folder in Drive C and if Steam removes 'all CK files from the COMPUTER,' I'm afraid that it will mess up my game as some of my mods' files, & scripts seem to have embedded themselves amongst some of those CK files. I haven't touched anything yet, but I hope you understand my frustration.
I did copy those CK files that I thought I wouldn't need to run Skyrim to a USB and deleted them from the installation folder but I found out that Skyrim does seem to depend on the CK files/configurations for some reason in order to run. I find that strange because I've never been able to use the CK and Skyrim shouldn't be rely on it. Please let me know if I'm not understanding this correctly.
