I would create a game with, among other things:
* Attributes, Birthsigns, classes and Perks.
* Spellmaking
* Persuasion. And make Persuasion an important option to finish most quests in a non-violent manner.
* A chargen option of toggling either class or classless play.
* All non-Radiant quests would offer multiple options for completion, involving combat, persuasion, sneaking, ect.
* An improved version of Fame and Infamy, as well as guild rivalries and reputation, guild skill requirements.
* All HUD elements and map markers would be individually toggle-able.
* "Quest notes:" a paper that would supply directions to quest locations and quest-giving NPCs (for players who turned off HUD elements and map markers). These could be destroyed or dropped after the completion of the quest.
* Gear degradation, but only down to base stats. Smithing would improve gear. The gear would degrade back to base stats with use. Then it would need to be improved again.
* Improved and expanded marriage and social relationships.
Attributes
Spellmaking
Longer guild quests
Better quest notes
That’s an excellent list, Wyrd. I agree on all points.
I’d also add camping gear. I’d like my character to be able to live anywhere in the world, not just where someone else happened to leave a cookpot or bedroll.
An optional survival mode would be a great addition. Staying alive in a harsh environment can be just as engaging as exploring dungeons.
Factions with their halls in several cites, rather than only one main hub per faction.
More factions, with conflicting questlines.
More non-combat quests.
Possibility to name saves.
Attributes and classes.
Bigger (much bigger) and more alive cities.
Agree with most of them. However I'd have backgrounds rather than classes.
Also a lot more perks many of which would only become available through doing particular quests, finding the right trainer, reaching a certain rank in a faction.
