That was my thought, exactly. The idea of a crossguard isn't a bad one, but that design was silly. Of course, since they construct their own light sabers, maybe that Sith/Jedi was just an idiot.
I hope the proper trailer is better because this one was hugely underwhelming. I'm also pretty sure he's going to slice his clothes off with that crossguard.
The trailer was dumb. The name is dumb. "The Force Awakens?" That's something I'd expect to be the name of a Force Unleashed/Sonic the Hedgehog slash fan fic.
HOWEVER, I don't have an opinion on the movie. I'll reserve judgement until more than just a teaser trailer is out.
At least this teaser trailer gives me a ton more information about the movie than the Fallout 3 teaser trailer did about the game.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the actual beams of the lightsaber. Look at them! They are not smooth uniform beams of light, they actually have arking bits of "lightning" traveling up and down the blades.
Also on the crossguard bit. True if an enemy blad struck the emiters of the "crossguard" then they would be destroyed. But witht he way lighsaber duelests are trained to use a lightsaber that would probably never happen. I'm thinking this Sith will incorperate techniques akin to longsword combat where the crossguard could also be used offensively.
The only information it gives is that there is the light side then the dark. Oh, and of course it tells you that the movie's gonna be extremely bad. I wonder if they made it just to show us "you thought it can't get any worse, well, what do you say to this?" All I can say is wow. Thank God I wasn't hyped for this to begin with, else I'd be mad.
ANYTHING is better than the title Phantom Menace
And it makes perfect literal sense with what we can assume is happenning in the universe. Both sides of the force were basically reduced to nothing, so now we'll likely see the Jedi (and Sith) grow in power with a new generation.
The war of balance is being awakened.
Or maybe it's not even a traditional lightsaber as we know them.
It does not use the familiar sound effect when it extends, (which is something they would likely keep for this movie) so it could just be an energy weapon.
The internet sure is crying about it though. lol
Well it showed some actors, some visuals from the movies, thats what i meant. As comparison, Fallout 3 showed a destroyed DC and some brotherhood of steel, but no other explanation.
Plus how does this say it's gonna be bad? Because it has Max Von Sydow as the narrator?
