Jyggalag, Daedric King and destroyer of worlds?!

Post » Mon Dec 01, 2014 7:26 pm

[Spoilers alert, if you haven't beaten Oblivions shivering isles AND met Sheogorath in Skyrim, the contents of this passage will be rather confusing and may come as a shock to you.]

Certainly, the hero of Kvatch released one the strongest and smartest beings in the known universe; one who can see the future and is feared by all the Daedra! What does this mean for Tamriel?

Certainly the Hero of Kvatch, Champion of Cyrodiil, and the second crusader had defeated the being in his weakest form centuries ago, but what about now? Where has he gone? What if he's out there right now tearing apart oblivion and subjugating the princes? I doubt Jyggalag will ever allow himself to fall victim to such opposition ever again. In the next game we may have a villain with power rivaling the gods themselves!

Perhaps we will fall from Sovngarde into the realm of flesh and blood, and be forced to fight our way back into the realm of the Nine!

There are no dragonborn left in all of Mundas! The gods will not be able to aid us! Our only chance is to gather the few remaining princes, and the Hero of Kvatch himself: Sheogorath, before marching to flank the great Jyggalag!

Sovngarde awaits!

Please understand the post is purely speculation; that I know nothing about any current developments by Bethesda and their associates. If you would spare the time to post in hear to keep the thread active long enough to get some attention, that would be fantastic as I think this would be a much better idea than the recent "You were chosen by the gods, arrested, freed, had your sweet roll stolen, and now have to go save the world of ungrateful novices who happen to sound alike" plot line-up routine. It may be many years before we see another Elder Scrolls as the Online development is sure to take up many of their resources and Bethesda still has other series to worry about.

first, what?!

where are you getting the idea that a Dragonborn defeated Jyggalag? that NEVER happened

second, when it comes to theories on Jyggalag, I am still partial to Hevnoraaks Theory http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1488547-jyggalags-future-how-he-can-be-involved-in-the-next-tes/

I think he means The LDB "would have" defeated Jyggalag as we see him in SI.

was he?

re-reading it it sounds almost as if he was implying the CoC was Dragonborn, which is obviously not true.. though the CoC may have been a Shezarrine, which is equally (if not more so) badass

Champion of Cyrodiil refers to seven possible people, its even less logical than calling him the crusader. But yes, at the end of the Shivering isles DLC in Oblivion the Hero of Kvatch fights and wins against Jyggalag and becomes the god of madness after freeing him from his curse.

I like to believe he was dragonborn, chosen by the gods.

Hevnoraak's theories both confirm and support my ideals above.

he wasn't Dragonborn though, thats why he could not wear the Amulet of Kings or light the Dragonfires himself.. he was not Dragonborn, but he was very likely a http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Shezarrine (shown by the Simple fact he was able successfully become Pelinals Successor)

if anything, Shezarrines are Chosen by Gods, as each one usually play a large role in History.. there were numerous Dragonborn that never did anything more than sit upon the Ruby Throne

You make a wonderful argument, but I updated the post you're replying to a moment ago.

I will probably referance the Hero of Kvatch as Shezarrine from now on.

I would also like to point out, technically, the CoC did not defeat Jyggalag, Sheogorath defeated Jyggalag (that battle was after the CoC had taken the Throne of Madness, as such (by the way mantling works), he was no longer the CoC, but was himself the Prince of Madness)..
this is why Jyggalag was freed of the curse, since Sheogorath was already sitting upon the Throne of Madness when he should have reverted, Jyggalag could no longer revert back to Sheo (because there was already a Sheo on the throne), freeing him to return to the waters of Oblivion..

You can say whatever you like, but the Hero of Kvatch still hit Jyggalag with weapons until Jyggalag couldn't fight anymore.

thats what I am saying though, gameplay =/= Lore.. Technically in lore it wasn`t the CoC because of the way Mantling works.. about 10 minutes before that battle took place, the CoC had just mantled Sheogorath..

so while in gameplay it looks like the CoC defeated Jyggalag, from a LORE standpoint (and this is the lore forums) it was Sheogorath that defeated him, because when the CoC mantled Sheo, he forever ceased to be the CoC, and was from that point forward Sheogorath The Daedric Prince of Madness
