I'm sure I'm not the first, last, or only person to express his love for Fallout in any way shape or form. In fact, I'd make a safe bet that not only was I in diapers while most of you were beating the Enclave, but that I was probably more focused on Pokemon and Garfield than on the New California Republic. But that's a bit of a side tangent. The point is that I love Fallout.
I am a major fan (as I'm sure most of you are) of this series. It has been my delight to play these games, and I can safely say that nothing quite compares to the unique experience and universe of Fallout. But this is where I have a problem, you see. My problem is one that is not very easily remedied. I can save Tandi a million times, but the game almost always ends the same way. I can ravage my way through the Capital Wasteland and defeat aliens on their own mothership, but what happens after all that is said and done? For the love of God, once I've beaten Caesar's Legion and driven them off, I can not for the life of me do it again. There needs to be more. It takes time to make a good video game, takes even longer to market it, and within a day of being a couch potato, you can't believe that you've already beaten the game so hard that it is reminiscent of a boxing match with Muhammad Ali.
I'll stop the stupid metaphors.
The point is, I need more. I am a very patient man, but I can't wait for the next Fallout game. DLC's are cool but they don't go in depth enough either, and are extremely based on regional aspects. Not only that, but the game developers have lives outside of this game and I don't want to be the one fan who is demanding of them at all times. In fact, through suggesting a book idea, perhaps it would lighten their load and allow them to work on other projects or take a break.
Would a book, series of books, or even graphic novel/novel help this universe expand? 4 real games (I know there are other official games, but they pale in comparison to the main games) does not leave a lot of room open for a well-known universe. I've scoured the Fallout bibles, I've gone through nearly every page on fallout.wikia.org, and I've played every Fallout game that exists. There needs to be more.
I am personally willing to write, help write, sponsor, be involved in, or any dereliction of those options, a Fallout series or novel that takes on the universe of Fallout. Somebody has to be thinking the same thing as me.
