System Requirements?

Post » Sun May 16, 2010 6:19 pm

I know SD isn't going to release the requirements for Brink for awhile but does anyone have any speculations on to what the minimum and recommended specs are? It's still the Id4 engine with a few tweaks and the developers say they want even lower end PC's able to run it.

Thoughts?

I'm hoping a dual core should be able to manage recommended settings. Hopefully their definition is similar to the average PC gamer's.

Well just use the requirements (Cpu, graphics etc..) from a xbox 360 as the minimum.

The requirements for a 360 wouldn't be the minimum would they? Games being played on a minimum spec PC usually stutter and skip a lot. The 360 plays all it's games with usually no stuttering ever.

The 360 also has a 3 core cpu and not that great of a graphics card. I think the games for the 360 are usually textured or with fewer polygons to make the console able to play them but don't quote me on it.

Edited for grammar.

I didn't say they 'would' be minimum, but if you use it as a minimum (to go by) then your definitely gonna be able to play it

Yeps  I just figure if you have better or close too a 360 you should be fine. (But get a better graphics card than the 360's lol)

My guess is that they will release the minimum system requirements when they announce the release date. (or shortly after)

Yea I hope it comes out in the beginning of spring (Autumn for me) In early march. Id wish for February but that's probably never gonna happen. (February is when the shops down here set there preorder release date, which was a lil weird but meh.)

End februari isn't impossible. If we assume that the private beta lasts for about 4 weeks and add another 4 weeks to give SD some time to finish things up, then you'll be around end februari. This is ofcourse pure speculation.

Not to be rude but is the way you spell february normal where you live? Cus I know the english use S's where we use Z's a lot.

End of March also marks the end of Q2. You might be right though. February is a likely month to have a release date.

It's a mistake I make frequently, because my native language writes a lot of things similar to English words. Dutch and English belong to the same family of languages. Another thing I hate is 's and s' because we also use it, but the grammar rules are completely different and I tend to mix them up a lot.

You might be right about the Q2, let's hope that it comes out soon and without issues.

I heard that learning english as a second language is one of the hardest things to do.

I never had problems with English except mixin' up some words and minor grammar rules. Believe me, from my point of view French is more difficult, because it's not part of the same language family.

My guess for the minimum specs is this:

2.4GHz Dual Core CPU.
GeForce 8800GT 512MB or AMD equivalent.
2GB RAM.
11GB Hard Disc capacity.

Chinese and Japanese. And German (but not nearly as much as the first two). Trust me.
