Want to get morrowind

Please at least read the first list. That is the most important. If the size of the post is daunting, then just don't read all of it. Some help is better than none.

I really want to get Morrowind, and there is one reason I already haven't. Mods. Generally before I even play a game like this, I go mod crazy. However, it is a very daunting task. In Oblivion, it took me months of actually playing it and trying stuff out for the first time to get a feel of what mods I really like. Even my second time around, when I just got recently got my new computer and wanted to play Oblivion again, it took me 3 days of installation alone. I am currently using 97 mods in Oblivion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some mods types that I need which are absolutely essential:
1. Immersion/realism mods. I want to have to eat, drink, and sleep. I also want my fatigue to be affected by running.
2. Body replacers, with both a nvde and non nvde version.
3. Graphics enhancers. I want to make the game look good, and increase the LOD.
4. a good elf race mod.
5. a dual wield mod, which doesn't apply to every NPC in the game, only me. In Oblivion, I use Unnecessary Violence.
6. some way to boost my carrying capacity high enough to where I will never have to worry about inventory space.
7. If Morrowind has the same "psychic guard" problem as Oblivion, that would absolutely have to be remedied. If nobody saw or heard me kill somebody, then how the hell would the guards know?
8. A good 3rd person mod. I like to be able to see my character while I'm playing.
9. I don't know how leveling works in Morrowind, but if it works the same way as Oblivion, I would want a mod that makes you not have to micromanage while you're playing. I want to be able to boost my stats by the maximum amount every time I level, regardless of how I played.
10. a mod that adds extra hair options.
11. seeing as how the console didn't work for Oblivion on my computer, it probably won't work for Morrowind. I found a way around that by using a mod called The Ring of Console. I will need some alternate way to open the console.

That's it as far as necessities go. Please, if you think this post is too long, then pay attention to nothing after this point, and only the above list instead of just leaving the page. However, if you would like to help me further, keep reading. I would appreciate it.

Mods I would like to have(this list will be longer):
1. Some kind of convenient house mod. In Oblivion, I had a mod that put a basemant in every house you own, and regardless of which house you were at, it was always the same basemant.
2. Some interface overhaul.
3. Some kind of mod comparable to deadly reflexes. I just want to be able to slice peoples heads off mid combat :P.
4. Something that makes it where your gear is more durable.
5. Something that either makes it where enchantments don't run out, or lowers the price for recharging them.
6. Some kind of cool female assassin looking armor, that shows a bit of skin. Must be compatible with the leading body replacer mod.
7. Some kind of awesome looking mage garments for a male character.
8. A good off handed weapon mod.
9. A cool looking bow.
10. Something comparable to Get Wet for Oblivion. Get Wet made it where when it was raining, or for a short period after getting out of water, that it would actually show very high resolution water droplets rolling down your skin and armor, and dripping off of you.
11. Some kind of call of duty looking low health alert.
12. Something comparable to Realistic Ragdolls and Force. I want the ragdolls to be more realistic, where someone does fly ten feet when you kill them with an arrow, and I also want bodies to be easier to move.
13. Something that alters the days and months of the game to use actual real life ones(January-December, Monday-Saturday)
14. A mod that lets me change the timescale of the game.
15. A mod that actually shows your character sleeping, like "See You Sleep" for Oblivion.

That's the least of what I can think of. I could put more, but I really want people to reply to this and I don't want to scare anyone off.

Luckily for you, all of your demands have been pre-met by mods, except a few of them; I don't know of any Get Wet-type mod for Morrowind, and there's probably not any Ragdoll mod, since Morrowind does not utilize Havok. I would suggest visiting Planet Elder Scrolls and TESNexus and searching for each one of these mods on your lists, and then once you've finished with what you can find, return and ask about the ones you can't find.

Edit: Morrowind doesn't have the psychic guards problem, and to open the console, you simply press the tilde key, which has these symbols on it: ` or ~

Essential mods:

1. Necessities Of Morrowind will cover your eating, drinking, and sleeping. Running tires you out already, so you don't need a mod for that. Living Cities of Vvardenfell and Children Of Morrowind are both indispensable realism mods for me; the first gives NPCs schedules that they follow throughout the day while the second puts in the children and teenagers who were previously significantly absent.
2. Better Bodies by PsychoDog Studios. This is really the only body replacer anyone ever uses for nonbeast races - for beast races, we have New Beast Bodies by LizTail. Better Bodies has nvde and non-nvde options, choosable on install, and New Beast Bodies has "advlt" and "clean" versions since the vanilla Khajiit and Argonians never had the permanent underwear everyone else was stuck with. You will want a head replacer as well; Vvardenfell Visages is a good place to start since it is pluginless, and there are so many .esp and .esm head replacers that it'd be impossible for me to remember them all.
3. Planet Elder Scrolls has an entire category for this, called "Models and Textures." I've done a few myself - look for Green Marble Mournhold and Hi-Res Telvanni.
4. Sorry, I don't know much about races... but I'm sure Westly has made some neato ones.
5. While there are dual wield mods out there, I doubt there are any to apply to all NPCs. I don't use a lot of weapon mods so someone else can answer this. I think Assassin's Armory has some off-hand weapons in it, though.
6. I don't know if there's any mod out there that does that already but it would be a simple thing to do in the Construction Set; just give yourself an ability that gives you about 80000 points of Feather as a constant effect.
7. I don't know of any mods do this or if it's possible. You could always cast Frenzy on said NPC and let them smack you once; that way killing them isn't a crime.
8. Morrowind Graphics Extender lets you adjust your third-person camera, among about twelve billion other functions, like distant land and SSAO.
9. There are a few of these but since I use one that's a little beyond what you're asking (Galsiah's Character Development) I don't know them.
10. There are over 9000 of these available. Go look on PES and pick what you like.
11. Morrowind Graphics Extender allows you to remap the keyboard; if the tilde key doesn't work you can assign it to something else.

EDIT: And now for the would-be-nice things -

1. Fliggerty's gone one better than that basemant thing and made a house in a bottle that you can carry around with you! I don't know what it's called though.
2. Not sure what you mean by this one. What is it about the interface that you don't like?
3. Combat Enhanced lets you do this but I don't use it, so I don't know how well it works.
4. This sounds like a simple GMST adjustment.
5. Ditto.
6. Illuminiel has a nice Dark Brotherhood armor replacer that looks pretty sixy on the girls. However, I'm sure it's only one of many in the category of female assassin armor that shows skin.
7. I made a lot of these in my mod Hilgya the Seamstress.
8. See previous statement on dual-wielding.
9. Phijama's made some beauties; check them out.
10. I'm not sure this is possible with Morrowind's game engine. Maybe someone could script something for MGE, but I don't know.
11. Skipping this since I have never played COD.
12. Alas, this is not possible with Morrowind's engine. I'd like it too, but I live without it.
13. I swear I saw one like this somewhere once, but I don't have any idea who made it or what it was called. Sorry.
14. Termpus Fugit Ring by Abot. It's also included in his Water Life mod, which includes some neato atmosphere in the otherwise dull oceans.
15. I don't think this one exists, sorry.

Do a google search for Mythic Mods, Telesphoros List, or Empirical Morrowind. All of your questions are easy enough to answer for yourself, quickly in less than a day.

So get it already.
Learn to mod, so if you ever want something crazy that hasn't been done yet, you can do it.
Just get the damned game already.

Ya I know. For my old laptop it worked. It just doesn't for this one. I've been saving my money, and I just bought a 900 dollar computer that is intended for gaming. I press tilde, and it doesn't do anything. It did on my old laptop. Then I looked up that for some computers who are either using Vista Ultimate or Seven Ultimate as their operating system, who are also using a lot of infrared hookups(I don't know why), the console may not open, and I have a infrared receiver for the computer hung over my TV, and I have like 6 speakers with infrared receivers, and this would be way too complicated to remedy. Luckily for me, I found the Ring of Console mod for Oblivion, which was a lifesaver.

I certainly don't know or even understand to the slightest degree what your problem is but perhaps you can try mapping the console to a different key using MGE? If that doesn't work then I have no clue. I haven't ever heard of a mod that adds any sort of item that will open the console.

Ya, I don't know. Who knows, that may not even happen for Morrowind. However, I'd like to be prepared just in case, because it did happen with Oblivion. For Oblivion I actually had a mod called Ring of Console that made it where everytime you equip the ring, it opens up the console. It was a lifesaver.

edit: It's worth a try, but I don't think remapping would matter. It's not a matter of what key it is bound too, it's just a problem with the console in general. Atleast, that's how I understand it.

edit #2: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13133 is the link to the Ring of Console mod, specifically made for people who have this problem.

It's obvious by half of these requests that you've never even looked into Morrowind's system. The 3rd person is easily playable, enchantments recharge over time, and your fatigue is affected by running. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if you were trolling. Ohh, and there's no physics, and you can't move bodies.

AND half of the other stuff you wanted altered you can just do with the console, such as timescale.

Why would you want an interface overhaul if you don't even know what the vanilla one looks like? And why would you make request for mods when you know nothing of the game?

Leveling mod: Galsiah's Character Development. The popular Oblivion mod nGCD (Not Galsiah's Character Development) was inspired by it.

As for the interface there are a few replacers that change the colour but nothing big, few people use them. Morrowind's menus are much better and more configurable than Oblivion's anyway.

But yeah check out the game first before asking for more mods so you'll have a better idea of what you want to change. It's very playable without mods too.

Okay, got you, but you'd think that before he asked for physics mods to fix the (nonexistant) physics that he'd at least check to see if Morrowind had physics.

And you'd think he'd check to make sure you aren't fatigued by running in the vanilla game.

ya, your fatigue is affected by running too in Oblivion, you just don't lose fatigue. Instead, it makes it where your fatigue regeneration is just slowed down while running. I want my fatigue to actually drain while I am running, and to occasionally have to slow down and walk. No, I am definitely not trolling. Would I take the time to make such a detailed list if I was?

Okay, I didn't know that, and I don't know how I could without first getting it, which would defeat the point of these requests. I want to already have these mods before I even get the game, because without them, I wouldn't even want to play it, and I will have wasted money.

I do know that in the interface that the map is a little too small, and letters are a little too big for my tastes. I can tell you that. Why would I make requests when I know nothing of the game? Because I know elder scrolls games, and I know what I need to enjoy it. Can you really not understand that? The point of this is so I don't get the game and then be disappointed because I can't play how I want to. After I've already gotten the game, then this thread would lose some of its value to me.

Why is that? How can you tell, without having played the game, that you absolutely cannot enjoy it without downloading tons of gameplay altering mods in the very first playthrough?

If you spent $900 on a computer, it should come with a warranty, or individual parts should be covered by warranty; you can get a really nice 104-key keyboard for $30 (with working tilde key and all) or less.

Return to III - Morrowind
