Do you use Real Vision ENB?

Post » Tue Dec 09, 2014 6:39 am

I got my hands on a pc that can handle it. Modding Skyrim 1 more time to create my grand masterpiece. I plan to install this with NMM. I used to use the Imaginator, and have been looking at Real Vision ENB for quite some time now. It seems to have its own installer? I am probably going to need to uninstall and reinstall skyrim a couple times, will this ENB leave traces of its installation on other parts of my computer? Will uninstalling and deleting my Steam Skyrim folder remove RealVision from my PC? I just don't want to start mucking up this computer by installing, uninstalling and reinstalling software. Any info is APPRECIATED!

I do not think you can use a mod manager to install an enb. I do not use enb's so I do not know the install procedure that well. I believe first you need to get the main enb files that the enb preset needs to runs.

No dont use it, but I would imagine once installed, pretty much like anything else which people dont realise it will have an entry in the windows Start menu, with an Uninstall option. And probably also in Windows Control Panel Programs and Features.
Which should get rid of its own files plus any registry entries made.

So it's more of a software program than a mod.

Looks like a combination of files that need to go in Skyrim \ ( like the usual bunch of enb files do, which cannot be installed by a mod manager ), which is what the executeable is for .. Do you trust the author ? ( judging by the amount of downloads, and the fact that a lot of technically competent people will have had a good look at the files, I think it can be trusted .. 1.3 million downloads )

+

A plugin and possibly other files which get installed into Skyrim \ Data \

Which is what the NMM file is for

I think the executeable is initially getting installed into Data \ by NMM along with the plugin + whatever ( where the executeable is redundant ), and you run that from there ?

See section 4 of the description and if you want to install it follow those instructions carefully.
( ^^ Have you had a read of that section ? )
