Edit: Yes, lots of lag, but playable. It would actually bounce between perfect and freezing every 4-5 hours. With some laggy parts.

I had the very same problem you have now. Format your hard disk to FAT32 again with a PC or laptop. If your game still proceeds to act like this, consider buying a new hard disk of 5400rpm. (i did this too)

I'm gonna make the list again, with improvements.

1. Make a new file save every time.
2. Don't collect absolutely everything. Don't make 6+ houses and fill all of them to the brim.
3. Don't let the game run while your away in an attempt to get high sneak/armor/etc...(rubber band trick)
4. Additions: Get 2 items from NPC(Muffle and Underwater breathing), they are infinitely harder to get at higher level, because the game views them as low value items. I learned this at level 70........
5. Don't go random cave exploring, many times I ruined a quest killing everything in a cave and not being able to complete a quest line later on.

What's the rubber band trick?

Something that's irrelevant if you want to cheat and are on PC because you have the command line console to do it.

Strap a rubber band to your controller and have it heal you forever while something is attacking you. Can use for sneak, light armor, heavy armor, various spells, etc..... Need 100 enchantment for this to work as you need good enchantments.

Oh okay, interesting. I'd never do this, but it is a way to artificially create a character who has some exalted skills, and hasn't got access to mods / console commands.

Based on my experience it doesn't create lag as long as you don't have 200+ legendary restarts. Get to skill 60 in regular play and cap it off with the last 40 skill, bounce between NPCs for that last 5 skill on every 10 skill <---- wordy, but I think you understand what I'm saying.
