Nation RP Lore Thread

Post » Thu Dec 18, 2014 4:20 pm

This thread is for the Discussion of Lore related to possible upcoming Nation RPs. General background and agreed local history. Things like how Tactics ended. Or what became of Vegas under a certain RPer.

Do note that these are personal Lores as RPers will be choosing a Main Nation to RP. However this doesn't mean you can't write lore for the same Nation if another RPer has chosen it. There will be times where X RPer simply can't join for whatever reason, or was too late to join up and his Nation was taken.

So in short just because you want a Nation doesn't always mean it's available. Might be good to have a backup just in case.

Now biggest question. What kind of world are we creating? Is this after The Second Battle of Hover Dam? 10, 20, 30 Years later? Is this going to be local or global.

Is there any interest at all in starting it at a Local level and prior to New Vegas?

After Fallout 2 a lot of the factions that are the meat and bones of most posters here (those who never played the original series) were just beginning to form. If anyone would be interested in starting off in California shortly after Fallout 2 and then building as time passes into different versions of the Fallout Factions and ultimately into different or new factions....if anyone is interested in that I'd be happy to scour the Wiki and fill you in on factions that interest you.

If not I'd vote for 10 years post-2nd Battle

I'm interested in doing the post-Fallout 2. After all, I have some pretty interesting ideas for a different California.

I call the Shi since its a part of my California Lore Project.

Granted, on the condition that the great Shi Massacre of (Insert Relevant Year) becomes part of the canon.

Just kidding of course, but damn did I ever enjoy opening up on everyone there when I reached my Kill Every Thing end game.

I'd like to either be NCR or Enclave

Lets work solely on America first then we go global.

10 years after IMO.

One thing for sure is that when we do go global, I will be working on the Philippines.

On another note I have not made up my mind on my backup nation but expect it in a few days.

I'm not sure on a local RP. That's something for Faction RPs, and less relevant to Nation RPs and their lore. While it sounds good and all the whole point of the thread is to discuss NRPs. I've had a few ideas on that myself. If we did start 10 years after the 2nd battle of Hover Dam. Then perhaps some Nations are on the verge of War. Expansion and Destruction have brought resources to an all time low.

A Convention, Conference or whatever we decide to call it is called. And the broadcast is sent out on all frequencies. Catching the attention on unknown Nations. Thus uncovering new lands and potential allies. Perhaps these meetings last up to a week allowing more personal time for each Delegate and opening up more of the Major cities. It would be cool to walk around some other Nations and do some exploring.

Lets not use Summits or convention or conference or any word meaning for a "gathering". Its repetitive.

I remember in one of the NRP's we started some time after Hoover Dam.

Well we pretty much did that. Delegates get to explore the hosts cities and etc remark about.

I'm curious, how long do international meetings take in RL?

How about calling it The Game Of Nations?

Alright on the international meetings if Congress is any indication Years. Ha! Joking. But I'd imagine a few months at least. I don't know those kinds of things.
