So I'm going to use the original Faction RP as the basis for retelling the story, adjusting to minimize some of the problems that cropped up as the RP progressed. Some of the factions which died off rather quickly will be left out, some of the events that proved troublesome will be left out, issues that were introduced and quickly steamrolled over will be prolonged, and thus I will try to avoid having the issues of TB, Securitron Mayhem, and Tunnelers all popping up in the same short timespan.
If at some point this is sufficient to reignite interest in a long dead RP I would be happy to turn it from a Fan Fiction back into an RP, but I would want to do so under certain conditions to prevent it from falling prey once more to the same conditions that brought it to it's untimely death.
I will likely be editing this first post several times to lengthen/strengthen House's introductory bit. Subsequent posts will be of a similar nature taking into account the first posts of different factions while also trying to look a bit into who they are and how they view the world. If any of the original participants take interest in this but aren't quite sure if they want to participate in it again, feel free to PM me with how you would imagine the faction/character would respond to things or what he/she would do and I'll likely implement it. Anyway...
A House of Cards
I've made success a bit of a habit these long decades. Each success depends on forethought, the dispassionate calculation of probabilities, and an accounting of every stray variable. Nothing must to be left to impede progress. By these careful calculations I built and defended my Utopia against wars and warriors, both before and after the Great War. By careful propagation and interpretation of data I foresaw the inevitable end of modern civilization and the destruction of the lands which I had grown to love. There I rested and planned the resurgence of my beloved city.
The time for action came when the New California Republic ventured into my lands. I quickly set out to put together an alliance, turning several of the aimless nomadic tribes of the area into allies and bringing them under one banner. The New Vegas the NCR met that day was a mere shadow of what we would become, but projected the appearance of a community much more vibrant and successful than we had yet become. We two nations developed an agreement there years ago, but their lust for expansion would not allow them to leave New Vegas unmolested. They gradually grew closer, like the malignant tumor they are, and began to quarrel with a number of factions in the area. Finally they grew bold and bit the hand that fed them, with predictable result.
I stood triumphant once more. The Courier I hired brought me the Platinum Chip I needed to upgrade my Securitron army, and using that army I was able to drive the NCR and Caesar's Legion from the Mojave once and for all. I was a billionaire 30 times over by the time I turned 30, no upstart nation was going to take what I had worked so hard to establish.
New Vegas was set to become the harbinger of a new age, a future for what remains of the human race. Under my guidance each of these tribes found their own niche and established themselves as powers unto themselves, beholden only to me their benevolent ruler. Protected, all, by the exacting but never excessive army of Securitrons under my singular control. The fate of democracy is laid out for all to see, and the NCR that regurgitation of the past would soon meet a similar fate. New Vegas however, for New Vegas there would be autocracy...firm control in the hands of a technological and economical visionary. That was the future Vegas would have.
Yet something has happened. A new variable has been introduced and I must adjust accordingly. Somehow I suspect I will have plenty of time.
