I hate ITunes..

Post » Wed Dec 31, 2014 1:32 pm

So, i bought myself an ITunes card at the store today to add a few more songs to my phone to listen to in my morning jog..

added the card to my account, but I can't buy any music with it because I can't remember the security question Answers from 5 years ago (I haven't used the acount in several years..)

Now, I understand have account security is an important and valuable feature, but this is really POing me atm..

anybody else have issues with ITunes in the past?

Can you not just request an account reset?

Last time I ever used anything itunes/Apple was a bit more than 5 years ago, and the account was a faded memory.

I recently moved up in the world and finally got a iphone. I went to register for an apple ID but it said I had an account already with that email, so I just clicked on "forgot password" and it sent me a email to reset my password on my still alive account.

Unless you have a different email now...

I can request a password reset, but not for the Security Questions..

I can log in fine (as I just added the [censored] ITunes card), issue is it won't let you actually purchase any damn music without the answers to two extremely vague security questions..

What I meant is that you should be able to change your security questions.

I just checked:

>appleid.apple.com

>Click "Password and Security"

>Under where the security questions are, there is a spot with a link that says "Forgot your answers? Send a reset to..."

I wouldn't direct all my hate towards iTunes since they're not the only ones using that feature for password recovery.

The question is supposed to be something only YOU would know the answer to, but I often forget my answers as well.

yeah, i posted a help request so they should call me tmr..

Normally this would not bother me and I would just have started up another account but:

I recovered the Password so I could log in (and I can log in), I added an Itunes card just fine (so I now have that $$$ in my accounts wallet, and because I am currently between jobs I can't just go out and buy more all willy nilly), but when I try and actually buy the Album I get a "ohh, yeah you may be logged in just fine, we won't let you buy it without the Answer to these vague questions.. Ohh no, we could not have asked you these questions when you recovered your PassWord 10 minutes ago, that would make far to much sense for us!"

the fact your Log-in info is not enough, and you need the Answer to further questions within your own account to buy the Album is whats Alienating me..

Every other Digital store I buy things at say "got your PW? sure, what you feel like today?"
