The Bretons and Orcs, a nice idea about them...

Post » Mon May 17, 2010 1:32 pm

The Bretons and Orcs are both setteled in High Rock
so as you know, alot of Bretons are necromances, and Orcs are acctualy Elves, so i thought:
"maybe there was a very strong Necromancer, that wanted a great army, not of skeletons and undead, but of living things, the only problem was the elves, they were to strong, so that Necromancer had a group of other very strong Necromancers, that made the elves much stronger, uglier, and greener.

what do you think?

Is this your idea of how Orcs came into existence?

Sorry, but I'm not quite sure hat your asking/suggesting? (though I haven't had my coffee yet :P )

May we call the "very strong necromancer" Sauron??? :)

The question would be, why would a necromancer want an army of living things - that sorta defies the whole point of being a necromancer...

All LOTR referances aside, I believe somebody already has an idea to the creation of the Orcs. Right http://www.imperial-library.info/mwbooks/truenatureoforcs.shtml

Besides, that would not be very Necromancy like, as mentioned above.

I know I'm going off-topic, but as a fanatic LotR geek I have to comment.

It wasn't Sauron, but Melkor (Morgoth). Sauron's boss.

Anyways, I do not think that there are mages in Nirn powerfull enough to change an entire race in such a manner, probably not even the Psjiics (spelling?).

maybe because when an orc will die, they could use his soul to make something stronger? :P

My friends,

To truly understand the Orc genesis and their view of the universe, one need only read http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=610840&hl= by the esteemed loremaster, Albides himself, which has received the much coveted "MK seal of approval".

Until the Scrolls cross our Fates again, I will remain...

Sauron!? AHAHAHAHAHAHA, call his boss Melkor, now he's the one who did stuff right. Hell, he took over middle earth for quite a long time, and had an ARMY of balrogs AND dragons.

Sauron had just as important a part. :P Don't forget that Sauron was the one who went among the Elves and lured/kidnapped them. There wasn't a war to steal all the Elves, really [although the War of the Powers was ostensibly that]... Sauron just dressed up and made friends... Little did he know that big bad Melkor was a pedo...

Bah, I'll admit that I'm not quite brushed up on my Silmarillion or LotR lore, so you've got me there - its been a good three or four years since I could talk knowledgeably about Tolkien... :)
