World building is hard...

...for me but quest writing is intuitive for me and I can write and script a faction questline in a matter of hours if I wanted to. In the same amount of time, I can only populate one exterior cell half-assedly.

Why is this the case? Maybe my approach is wrong, because world building seems to be an easy task until I get down, try to do it and give up.

And also considering I've worked with modders who had the opposite problem in the TES modding community - ones whose world building is superb but can't script and write dialogue all that well.

I know the feeling..

I really like world building (exterior design), but I just can't motivate myself to create interiors. Even if I'm motivated, I just don't find it very fun to do. I guess it's a matter of preference, and in the end you also need to have an eye for it.
