worst boss you ever had

What is the worst boss you ever had?

I had a supervisor that used to tell us that overtime was not permitted because of budget reasons, and had us do the extra work without pay, or else we could lose our jobs. I was brand new working for the government and didn't know any better, so I believed him.

He used to call me names and yell and shout at me with bad 4 letter words. There were times where he had me backed up against a wall while shouting at me.

When he got promoted and left for a new position(he got kicked out of his new position later that year), my new supervisor told me that he checked out his paper work and found out that he took the overtime pay that i worked for himself for 2 years.

I remember telling myself that when I become a supervisor I would treat my people like gold. I'm a supervisor now and I treat my people really well. Even my people that are Call of Duty fans. I kid, I kid. :D

My worst boss was when I was working as a doorman. My boss at the time had me work 16 hour shifts 7 days a week for six months straight, while not paying me overtime. When I finally had a good schedule on the seventh month, he fired me on my day off. The worst thing was that on that day I was working as an elevator man as a favor to him. Anyway this was a guy who would fire people for anything. He once fired a guy cause he didn't like the way he talked due to his accent. Henceforth from that day on I swore never to break my back for anyone ever again.

Restock team supervisor.

I was put on that team to fill a gap; I didn't have the experience required to have been on that team in the first place. She did the following:

1. Blamed me, personally, for the fact the team wasn't able to meet quotas (Despite being severely understaffed in the first place, with another worker just as slow as I was)

2. Left before the job was finished (Bad thing, as all other restock teams had a "we all leave at the same time" mentality. Said something along the lines of not keeping people who didn't get overtime pay from doing overtime. Didn't help #1 at all when the only people who get overtime was me and the other slow person.)

3. Demanded that others who filled in on the team leave due to poor performance. (Also didn't help #1) Literally, my *actual* supervisor basically hit the bottom of the barrel because she kept rejecting everyone else who came in to help.

4. Blamed me for not following a restock instruction sheet to the letter... despite the instructions were for a 12' section and the section we were doing was 16'. Had to do something with the remaining 4', so kept the stuff up that was supposed to go down to prevent a giant gap.

5. Left without doing a store walkthrough with the store manager. Big no-no.

It literally got to the point where if my *actual* supervisor didn't say that she was getting me out of that team the next day, I'd have said point-blank that I was going to refuse to work for the team, even if it meant that I was going to get fired. Getting me to do that is a very hard thing to do.

I had a boss once who was the head of the IT department in an office building i was working at..

He had zero management skills, me and another employee were literally running the show.. an employee had an idea to improve efficiency? Well he told them to run it by me or another guy who worked there..

The fact i was (in both pay and title ) a grunt, but he was pushing management responsibility on me and this other guy is likely one of the reasons that place no longer exists. .

You would go in that guy's office and he was either watching TV, or playing WoW

In a small ski shop. I was 15 and the owner had a son who would get hopped up on cocaine and rockstar energy drinks. Every 5 minutes, and im not exagerating, he would have me start a new task before I could get very far with the last. Then at the end of it all yelled at me for finishing nothing.
