Utilities for mod management

Post » Fri Jan 16, 2015 7:22 am

I recently went ahead and reinstalled Oblivion and am going to be updating my mod list and adding some new ones.Is OBMM still the go to for mod management or have mods moved to Nexus Mod Manager? I do have LOOT but is there any other tools I should use as well? Is it likely that my list of mods will be updatable using Nexus or will I need to find them elsewhere?

I do plan to use Qarl's texture pack but would like to add other graphic enhancement mods if anyone can recommend any new good ones, especially for items if possible.
Thanks in advance.

I think most members use Wrye Bash + Boss, since Boss for Oblivion is actively being updated now, and Loot doesn't quite work as well for Oblivion the way it does for Skyrim. This is a pretty commonly asked thing though. There's a http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1512122-any-good-mod-managers-out-there/ on page two talking about this that may have some useful information for you. There's also a LOOT vs BOSS thread floating around somewhere.

And there's http://testg.wikidot.com/oblivion:oblivion resource for textures.

I still use Oblivion Mod Manager and make OMODS out of files that aren't already OMOD ready. I use Wrye Bash/BAIN if it's already BAIN ready, but I mostly only use Wrye Bash for the bashed patch.
