Just something i was thinking about ...

Isn't it kinda of weird that most of the people you don't know that you see randomly in places you will probably never seem them again in your entire life. Don't you ever think of that? Like i think about it. I don't know it's kinda of strange isn't it? We will never get to meet every human being in the world. I mean i barely know my neighbors.

I don't know, why i am thinking about this. Maybe cause some hours ago today i was talking to an elderly man and i didn't even know him, but he talked about his life and how he remembers when he was young. We talked for about an hour or so. But then i had to leave. But its kinda of strange. I will probably never see that old man again in my life. He will probably die and i won't know anything. I don't know. Sorry if this sounds stupid. lol

I have thought on this concept before and found a solution that's more peaceful.

Walk up with a smile and say hello to everyone! :D You'll meet us all in no time.

What's weird is when you keep seeing the same stranger over and over again and you wonder if they're part of your life just because of that?!?!?!?!?!

It would take over 31 years to look at every single person for 1 second that is alive right now.

It doesn't sound stupid. I love big ideas like this.

You probably made that old man very happy. Sometimes, lonely elders just want someone to talk to. Hell, you don't need to be old to want that either.

Each of those people you meet have a life just as complicated/confusing/interesting as yours and you are just a minor part of their life. Less than a minor character even, a smudge on the background.

Really questions our often self centred lives we lead.

Great point. I have been very selfish throughout my life and have just recently been working on it. I've definitely made some progress in the last few years. So now I talk to cashiers I go through, say hi to strangers I pass, and hey maybe I'll meet a new friend this way one day.

I have thoughts that are almost the opposite of this. I wonder if I've seen people before. It happens a lot when I'm in large cities. I find myself wondering, as I pass hundreds of people on the street, if I've ever passed any of them on some other street in some other city without knowing it. Perhaps I gave directions to someone in one city and here I am now, passing them again, years later, in another city.

Back on Black Friday, I was waiting in a line for a tablet my grandma wanted to get my cousin. There was this guy there, year younger than me, and we started talking about this and that to pass the time. Before long we were laughing and just swapping stories, he seemed like a really cool guy. After we got the tablets we split ways without ever getting a name or anything. Shame really, he seemed like the kind of guy I could kill a boring weekend with.

Typically I love having a chat with a random stranger, some usually have stories to tell that are extremely fascinating. Back when I worked in logging and landscaping, we did this yard job for a Vietnam veteran. On our break we sat with him on his porch and he told us stories of his days back in the military. By the time he was done we were an hour behind schedule haha.

As cheesy as this sounds, listening to what people have to say, what they've accomplished, what their life has been like has honestly taught me that everyone has a story. It may be something simple, or a story of great accomplishments.

There was a girl that I saw only three times, but in the third one, we looked each other and stared for two minutes. That was weird.

I used to work at a high class retirement home waiting on tables, and I met some truly spectacular people. I met 2 women from Nazi death camps that showed me their numbered tattos, a Miss America winner from the late 1920s, and a WW2 vet that told me that on some Pacific Island he was the only survivor out of a 30 man unit on a landing boat. He told me that he had to crawl off the boat because his legs were riddled with bullets. When he saw I was a little doubtful, he pulled up his pants leg, and lo and behold, there were tons of little scars from bullet holes.

Meeting a Miss America from the 1920s was pretty cool. So was meeting those 2 death camp survivors.
