Free Antivirus?

Post » Fri Jan 30, 2015 9:33 pm

So my free trial of Trend Micro ran out, and I find myself unprotected. Haven't seen the freeware thread in a while, so anyone know a good free anti-virus software? (By which I mean real-time protection, for scanning I have Malwarebytes).

I use the free version of Avast. I'm not sure how well it works, because I'm careful about my browsing, so it's never had a chance to pick up anything. At least it doesn't have a problem with false-positives though, like some other software.

Avast, but for some reason I have to turn it off when I play Mount and Blade WB (original game, not modded)

The free version of Avast gets the job done nicely.

Avast should be fine; I use it as well.

I don't really get a chance to test it, but recently I was searching for a decade old software on the web and encountered this shady download. Decided to click it anyway, and avast detected the virus while it was downloading. So it does work I suppose.

I've only been using Microsoft Security Essentials.

Malwarebytes does a real good job, have not had any issues since using it. Although I did opt for the paid version eventually.
