Windows 8.1 media player removed the ability to watch DVD's. Can anyone reccomend me a good free software I can download to watch and rip DVD's?

Are you serious? Windows 8 media player won't let you watch DVDs? I don't care about ripping, but when I get a computer this year I would like to watch.
