Skill Equations

Does anyone know how skill success is calculated in Morrowind?

I have the Daggerfall book that shows a lot of these equations, but I cannot find anything similar for Morrowind.

One of the things that is particularly annoying, is that as Personality, Mercantile and Disposition improve, the vendors offer LOWER prices for items instead of better.

You can haggle them up by a larger percentage, but they should not be offering a lower value as your Mercantile skill gets higher, they like you more than they did as their Disposition towards you is 100 and you now have a Personality score of 75 instead of 40.

It would be nice to know how high I can go before they refuse my offer.

Cheers!

Hotfusion discovered that the mercantile issue where vendors offer you less once your mercantile hits about 70 is not so much a bug, but a consequence of the vanilla vendors having too low a mercantile skill. His mod increases vendors mercantile skill and that "bug" simply disappeared.

The MCP also takes care of that issue.

I cannot tell you the exact disposition/mercantile skill combo you need to reach the tipping point because it depends not only on your mercantile skill and the vendors disposition but also on the vendors mercantile skill.

There is some info on the UESP mercantile page but if you are really interested you should track down Hotfusion's Economy mod and study the readme. I recall there is quite a bit of information there about this phenomenon.

As for other equations the game relies upon (such as combat, enchanting success, etc. ) the UESP site has quite a bit of information.
