How do you approach The Strip part of the game?

That's a poor title but I couldn't think of anything else brief enough. I've been exploring a great deal of the land around Vegas itself, saving that until toward the end. I'm wondering if you go to Benny first and play through whatever goes on with him. Or something else? Can you sort of get to know each of the families a little bit, along with Mr House, without committing to too much? Just wondering.

I tend to take my time to establish my character's core and personality in what some people refer to as "Act 1". I believe the "Act 1" means your starting game & quests from Goodsprings, the long horse shoe shaped trail that the game leads you through, and the eventual entering The Strip. I would like to try a playthrough where try to ignore The Strip until much later in the game, and I'd also like to try a playthrough where I rush there (or even get there through the north ) and start that part as soon as possible. Either way, all my playthroughs so far have taken there time but followed the build up to The Strip.

This thing between Benny and I is personal. I take care of him as soon as I get to the strip. Then I go and see what the other people want from me and decide on whether to help them or not.

''Benny? That rich guy shot me in the head twice. But that doesn't mean that I will destroy the whole Mojave to get a little revenge...even if revenge tastes wonderful. I don't want to be famous around here, heck, I never wanted to be famous. I'll just get to him discreetly, and get some answers, because I'm sure he had a reason to kill one courier for a chip, and if there's something I like more than getting revenge...is walking trough lonesome roads just to mess with other people's deals.''

-Venenum, my lovely main character.
