2015 and I'm STILL getting the persistent Nirnroot glow

Hello. I've come to this forum due to something I should've reported ages ago, and which has been affecting me ever since the game's release: the good old Nirnroot glow bug where the light spheres they emit stay behind after picking them. If I pick one multiple times, each time it respawns it just adds another layer of glow; most of the ones in my game are very bright by now. I've heard that this was supposedly fixed by the USKP and later in one of the official patches, version 1.6 I believe. I guess I'm the only one these days who was left with this bug unfixed after patch 1.6, as I can't find anyone else mentioning it after that came out. Needless to say, my game is auto-updated by Steam and at the latest version (TESV.exe says 1.9.32.0).

I'm rather concerned about how much bloat this duplication has added/will add to my savegame. I've tried saving the game standing in front of a Nirnroot, disabling all my third-party plugins, and then reloading that save and picking the Nirnroot. Still, the glow stayed behind after the plant was picked. Also, I thought there might be something I'd done by accident to mess up a game script file(s) over the years, so I deleted any files which involved Nirnroots from my Data\Scripts folder, to no avail (I restored them to their original locations after testing this). I even tried an old http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=8818 which was supposed to either remove duplicate glow-spheres or make them all invisible, but that didn't change anything. I hope someone here can help me to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Nothing I would worry about. I doubt it would add that much bloat. Unless it is obvious. How large are your saves? My saves are around 10-12 MB. I think my game does the same thing.

Loose scripts? Other mods that have the old buggy nirnroot glow? Something's overwriting. Either that or it's not a retroactive script and you're on an absolutely ancient play-thru.
