Skyrim -> Survival MMO?

Post » Tue Feb 03, 2015 3:19 am

One day i was sitting in my "command center", bored with every game out there.

I played a bit of Rust, then Diablo, then got stuck back into Skyrim.

After enjoying everything Skyrim has to offer, I decided i was going to play with the creation kit, and make an island.

Playing for a couple of hours i designed an island, enemies, loot, a town.

This got me thinking.

I'd also like to say that in no way with this concept do i mean TES and disrespect or anything, this is simply a concept im attempting to acheive, in the hopes

someone or even gamesas take it off my hands, because this is a game I would really love to play with friends, as I have played TES games for thousands of hours.

The Creation/Concept i'm working on is in its early stages, and is getting maybe a little too much for me to complete on my own.

As I have a very detailed and abundant imagination, I'm finding it hard to put a limit on where I should stop.

Anyway, here is what I envision the complete project to be.

Elder Scrolls: Decent into Madness

The Deadric prince of madness Sheogorath, was in the midst of a ramble to Fimnon, who just wanted a sweetroll, when he comes up with an excellent idea.

Sheogorath decides to throw a party for all those lost adventurers who are on deaths door, a second chance to live the glorious life. (everytime in any TES game I see a skeleton with loot in a dungeon, I wonder about their story, like how did he die with a healing potion in his hand...)

Long story short you are invited to dinner with Sheogorath Fimnon, and his trusty butler. upon a diolgue that upsets Sheogorath, you are made to walk into a large room with 32 doors.

You pick one, and wake up in a random place on Sheogorath's island.

The island is large currently about the size of solthsiem.

The aim of the game is to survive against the world, npcs, traps, Sheogorath playing tricks, random events, and hopefully one day, other players.

Here's a to do list.

Integrate a fallout3 style survival system.

Speed up the leveling process by x3.

Other player damage = 1/2 of normal.

Make a way for the player to deploy, and build houses.

Extend the current crafting and loot table

Allow players to harvest wood from trees and timber yards

Enable Players to have a follower that can run errands.

Enable Player to player looting

*Find a way to make skyrim work in the "Client" and "Server" system like other mmo survival games.

Upon dying, you respawn in Sheogorath's "Naughty corner" and are told to select another door.

design a aura around the town that disables combat and spells.

Design a mark and recall spell like on Morrowind (but possibly a 10 second cast time)

Enable respawn of flora and fauna to a 12-24 hour in game cycle

Add more "Food" and "water" to the game, for survival.

Disable dragon shouts.

Upon joining the server you are asked to make a new hero, start at lvl 1. if you die you loose your inventory, but keep levels.

source textures that could be used to make some areas of "Mania" or "Dementia"

Add Random world events like dragons ridden by Sheogorath and others of the like

Items despawn if not in a box over X duration.

craftable / deployable traps, fences, farms, gardens, wells, paths, ect

Non instanced buildings, with lockable doors (player homes)

Add some quests.

Add maybe a few public bosses that drop good loot to make things a little more complicated.

Design a push to talk script/function

Now that is a list as you can see of most of my adjustments to be made, and this is a task i know will be very hard alone.

but i would love to feel the thrill of TES with a few of my mates. Or the fear of being chased by a bunch of bandits.

TES has thown many revolutionary RPG ideas at us, and i hope that TES wont stop there.

But by attempting to design this, and if this project sees an alpha, this would make TES stand out in a whole new light.

And would probably make gamesas a [censored] ton of money lol.

Anyway i've put my creation/concept out there, for the fans to tear apart. look forward to hearing feedback.

Thanks Xykan.
