Best wives? Spouses?

Post » Sun Feb 08, 2015 12:30 pm

My favorite wives throughout my time in Skyrim have been Aela for my barbarian Companions character, Mjoll for my Thieve's Guild character, and Muiri for an alchemist/mage. I'd like to hear who you think the best spouses in the game are. I'm currently finishing up a knight/paladin style of character, thane of Haafingar and champion of the Imperial Legion residing in Proudspire Manor. Anyone have suggestions for a wife? Doesn't seem like there are any wives of noble birth

I should think Jordis would be an excellent choice, regardless of her pedigree. :icecream:

If you want someone of noble birth within the hold, Burgakh the Steelheart is the daughter of a mighty chief.

They are identical save that some are followers and some have houses, so it comes down entirely to whether you like their voice or appearance.

I like Temba Wide-Arms from Ivarstead. She has some fairly unique and interesting dialog after you are married. Things like "leaving? Take the world by storm dear". And, "you and I, we're the only two people in Skyrim worth loving, that's what I think". I married her on a whim once and I was pleasantly surprised. Sure beats being constantly greeted by "thanks so much for getting that claw back".

I really do not think that paladin characters would get married. Too busy protecting the world from evil threatening the innocent folk.

Being a practical female, I like that blacksmith in Riften (can't remember his name). I hardly ever see him since me and Maucurio are out saving the world all the time. But when I do stop by, he gives me gold from the smithing shop. How romantic is THAT!

The only difference between spouses is the free house you get. :P

Dialog changes depending on the voice they have.

Balimund, Craig, my Nord Riften Guard married him, since taking Balimund out of his forge is a bit no no for me I decided it was best for them to live in Balimund's house, nothing like Craig coming home during his lunch and having Balimund having the food ready. :D

They all are... largely the same, sad to say.

That's the problem with the marriage mechanic in Skyrim. gamesas went with quantity over quality. You have in excess of 50 potential partners, most of which have about as much depth as a 2d image.
