Morrowind GOTY digital version from GameStop (been working with support there, they're friggin HORRIBLE)

I had the original discs way back when but have been lost in multiple moves around the country. I purchased the digital GOTY version from GameStop 2 or 3 years ago and never had any issues with the game.

anywho, fast forward to about a month ago when trying to reinstall the game (it installs through GameStop's App) it installs fine but on opening the first time and doing the activation (enter email 2x and product key)

i get the error:

There was a problem activating Morrowind GOTY:
Writing of license failed.

I've worked with GameStop Support and after them verifying I'm using the correct email and double/triple checking my product code they told me to contact Bethesda and stopped responding to my further emails.

Bethesda says they can't help and I need to talk with GameStop again....

I've been battling with GameStop for almost a month and all they've been able to help with is telling me to ensure i'm using the correct email and product key. And Bethesda says, GameStop's installer we can't help you.

Catch22 much?

so any ideas?

If it's installing to Program Files, try creating a folder in C: specifically for MW and installing it there.
