For some reason, the game just keeps closing and going to the desktop with no error or anything. It happens at complete random. I can be fighting, walking, and it'll just close the game.

Have you sorted your load order correctly with LOOT ??? - and cleared dirty edits ??? (however, not all mods should be cleaned)

I you haven't done this !!! You loaded water before SMIM, in your load order.
