A (Likely) Simple Question

Post » Tue May 18, 2010 9:55 am

Hello, fellow modders, I come to you today with what I hope is a simple question and I am just silly..

How could I make themes, just like the ones already in the game?

I understand that X Markers are used, along with the item, but I can figure out how that works on my own, what I would like to know is if there is a way to hide all of the other themes, so I can see what is in the house, as it is hard to edit with lines and items overlapping left and right.

Thank you! :D

Press M to Hide Markers or press View in the Menu Bar and deselect what you want to hide ! :D I asked the same thing kinda earlier today ! Hope I've helped !

If yuo have somehting highlighted in the render window and press "1" twice, it will become invisible. This is a super useful tool for seeing or acting on just what you want.

As for making a theme - all the objects in a theme are set with their enable parent set to an Xmarker. When the Xmarker is enabled, all the other objects parented to it will also become enabled (visible). If the Xmarker is disabled, all the objects parented to it will become disabled (invisible). That's how the themes work, the scripts that set up themes just enable one xmarker and disable all the other theme's xmarkers.

Alright, I see. Thanks for the help, haha, I was having a lot of trouble with this.

edit: Hmm, actually, neither of these are quite what I was looking for, hehe.. You see, I am trying to make everything inside the house that is part of a theme hidden.. Hiding the markers doesn't hide the other clutter, and I could use 1 on every single item in the house, but that would be tedious. Also, I don't think there is a way to disable X markers in the G.E.C.K.
