A few new question

Post » Mon Feb 23, 2015 12:59 pm

I recently picked up this game again, but I never really got far at the first time I played, as I quit and forgot about it after accidentally delete my best character. So now I have a few questions:

1. What route in Blacksmithing will you pick for a mage in cloth, a warrior with 1h and shield in light armor and warrior in heavy armor?

2. I got Hearthfire. I remember I bought a house somewhere and started to equip it, but then as I said I managed to delete the character. I know there is 3 locations for theses houses, but I have no idea where they are and how to obtain them. Would be very glad if anyone could fill me in on that.

3. Is the game very different if you choose to be a vampire or werewolf? I've never tried anyone and I don't even know how to be a vampire. What is largest difference and also how do you become a vampire?

4. If I choose to become either of the above and regret, how do I get back to normal? And can you be both at the same time?

5. How do you join the thiefs guild? I've no idea on where it is.

Would be nice if anyone would enlighten me om these matters.

1. I don't think Blacksmithing is really worth it for a mage with robes, if your warrior uses light armour then go into the left side of the blacksmithing tree (light armour side) and if heavy then go into the right side (Heavy armour side)

2. I haven't used Hearthfire yet so I cannot comment on that

3. As a vampire, you will be weaker in the sunlight and more vulnerable to fire, but will gain spells as you advance to each level of vampirism. Feeding on NPCs will take you back to the first level of infection. Vampirism can be contracted simply by getting hit by other vampires in dungeons throughout Skyrim.

Lycanthropy (Werewolf disease) can be obtained by doing the Companions quest line and will basically give you a "spell" that when used, turns you into a werewolf for a certain amount of time. Feeding on corpses increases your time as a werewolf.

4. Vampirism can be cured by either becoming a werewolf or doing a quest in Morthal for a guy named Falion. Lycanthropy is cured by (I believe) a quest at the end of the Companions quest line. (NOTE: You cannot become a werewolf again once you complete this quest!)

5. Go to Riften and look for a guy named Brynjolf, he'll give you the first quest.

Someone else will most likely give better info than me and probably make more sense! :D

Also, you can't be both Vampire and werewolf at the same time!

1. I'm not sure I understand the question. Decide which armor type (light or heavy) your character will use and take the perks on that side of the Smithing tree. A mage might not take any perks at all in that tree, or might craft jewelry items to enchant and sell (or even use) and get the skill up to 60 so the Arcane Smithing perk can be taken; that's what I usually do with my mages.

2. There are three locations where you can buy land to build a house. The jarls in Falkreath, Morthal and Dawnstar will sell you the plots for 5,000 gold once you complete some favor quests for them. Talk to their stewards to buy the plots. Once you buy a plot its location will be marked on your map.

3. I haven't played much as a werewolf or a vampire. I've done the Companions quests a couple of times, but never really used the werewolf power. And vampirism is something I get rid of as soon as I can.

4. You can't be a vampire and a werewolf at the same time. To become a vampire, go to a location where they hang out and let them infect you with sanguinare vampiris. Three game days later you will be a vampire. Alternatively you can start Dawnguard and accept Lord Harkon's gift. To become a werewolf, join the Companions at Jorvasskr in Whiterun. Near the end of the Companions' quest line you'll have an opportunity to cure yourself of being a werewolf, but once you do that, that character can never become a werewolf again. You can cure yourself of vampirism and then get reinfected as many times as you want; curing full-blown vampirism involves completing a quest with an NPC in Morthal, or by becoming a werewolf. If you catch it within 72 hours of being infected, you can cure it with a cure disease potion or by visiting a shrine.

5. Go to the marketplace in Riften and let an NPC named Brynjolf talk to you. He'll give you a job that will get you started with the Thieves' Guild

Thanks. That is very helpfull :D

I got another question: When I kill and loot dragons I get dragon bones and dragon scales. Are these useful for anything, like blacksmithing later on in the game, or is it just junk to sell to vendors. They are worth a decent amount of money.

They're for Dragonbone armour and weapons which you can craft when you have a skill of 100 in Blacksmithing.
