burnt out on gaming

how often do you get burnt out on gaming?

might be because I have been unemployed for the last 9 months and have had nothing much to do other than gaming all day, or maybe its the depression, but atm I just don't feel the drive to play any of my games..

I am sure that drive will come back eventually, but as of now its just not there..

So, how many times have you been burnt out on gaming?

I have the opposite problem. There are a ton of games that I want to play...but most days I either don't have time to play, or I do find myself with some time and I'm too tired. I guess that's what working 50+ hours per week and having a 16-month-old will do to you. <_< The grass is always greener, I guess.

I'm really burnt out from gaming in general. Most new games don't interest me an I rarely have time for games anymore.

I haven't gamed in about a month. I will be picking up Bloodborne next month though and am really looking forward to it.

Edit: Final Fantasy Type-0 HD too.

Not that often, actually. Even when I'm a useless bum during most of the summer I actively look for more games to play.

I guess it helps that I have other hobbies to take up my free time, even if nowadays I pretty much just game whenever I can.

The last time I got properly burnt out on gaming was many years ago. Nowadays though... gaming is one of my sole, recurring motivations in life. A way of escaping from my tormented psyche, I suppose. I don't see myself getting burnt out again any time soon.

As for how many times: only a few.

When I had free time coming out of my ass (even relative to teenagers), once every few months.

Now that I'm a bit busier (relatively--I spend about an hour a day gaming), hasn't happened in a while.

There are a lot of titles that are really interesting to me, but when it comes down to playing I can't do more than play the intro then stare at the screen for 5 minutes. It's also there with games that I already own, never playing for more than 15 minutes at a time. It's as if looking forward to a game or being nostalgic about it takes most of the time and attention. Otherwise I am just learning to keep a schedule. I don't know if I'll start getting back into games once I can fill up my day with other things or if I'll just move on and occasionally dabble in familiar landscapes. There is plenty of motivation there, and the lack of games doesn't worry me, but the lack of anything else going on isn't the best sign. Most of the day I'll just watch movies and listen to podcasts to keep myself occupied and it's sometimes difficult to move away from something so simple.
