After having played Oblivion quite a few years ago on Win XP, I got interested again to play the GOTY edition (from Steam) and I a m running it on Windows 8.1 without any real problems. There is however an annoying quirk in that option settings from the game don't seem to stick - I have to set them each time I start and reload. Specifically this involves screen resolution and brightness. I found the screen resolution settings in oblivion.ini and corrected the issue, it is now working fine. Unfortunately I can not seem to find a place in the .ini file, if it is there, where I can do the same thing with the screen brightness. Anybody have any suggestion or advice? Thx.
