Hello there, in my effort to roleplay an Argonian I was wondering about their senses. In particular their sense of smell. I looked around the different sources but couldn't really find any solid evidence apart from Argonians smelling out the odd Argonian out if he hasn't licked the Hist sap yet.
I am going to lay out my ideas in a list of questions for easier reading
Would you say that Argonians have a good sense of smell? Better than human species for example?
Would they be able to smell out subtle smells such as undead, vampires, werewolves?
Would they use their tongues as an accessory organ (don't really like the idea)?
I am also wondering if an argonian mage would be able to have an affinity to "smelling" magic by detecting something unusual in the air (not necessarily detecting exact spells but rather noticing that some kind of energy is around the area by sniffing or a smell of magick that is lingering in the air. I suppose this doesn't have to do anything with smell but could be attributed to magick sensitivity and the focus of it is the nose? In this case if they don't have a developed sense of smell they would be able to detect undead/vampires/werewolves/preternatural creatures by detecting the magick nature of the curse (so can't say that they are what they are but rather that some kind of energy is inherent in the body of the creature)
Thinking about it The Infernal City novels could offer some answers as there was a fair bit of cooking/alchemy involved but I can't seem to remember if Glim had any sense of smell or not
