'pink' scorpion is a waste of time and bullets

Post » Tue Mar 10, 2015 10:36 pm

the pink (albino)scorpion is a complete waste of time, energy , ammo and interest. It's like as if an punishment has been meted out for dnloading the dlc. suddenly after level 20 or so , the game starts to get boring and takes the interest off ,..all because the 'pink' bore is lurking out there somewhere . and as if 1 pink bore was not enough , now they gang up as 2 or 3 at the same time..sigh How to kill a Good game almost instantly.... can take a lesson from here regarding bethesda's (anti)tactics. I think the game got it's awards sans the dlc, with the dlc it's a cropper.

any others who share the same views on the 'overkill' albino scorpion injection into the game .

Albino Rad Scorpions just take some strategy to kill. Best weapon I have found for killing them is the Gatling laser. Small guns don't do enough damage, but you could supplement by placing bottle cap mines around and leading them to the mines. Some of the added opponents in the DLC are harder to kill, especially if you haven't leveled past 25 yet.

Paralysing Palm is also a useful tactic, if your Unarmed skill is high enough.

They're annoying when it seems like they're the only enemy you encounter. In one game, a huge portion of my map was just covered up in albinos. Two and three at a time with another set located only a few feet away. After killing 13 of them just trying to get to the Republic of Dave, I made a mod to half their health and damage. Wouldn't you know that since then, I rarely see one at all.

My character likes to kill the Albinos at very long range with her missile launcher or sniper rifle. It takes a lot of ammo, but is fun and safer. If they get too close she nukes them. The A3-21 will kill them up close, but it’ll take some fancy dodging and several clips of ammo. (Playing on default hardness.)

actually killing the thing is not the purpose I was hinting at.

It's the 'logic' that bethesda has implemented.

the albino is dished out to the player on a high dosage...it robs tthe game of it's excitement . If I need to blastaway, I can always play other 'blazing guns' games available in the market ( and there's a plethora),but F3 (to me) is a thinking man's game with tactics , strategies & manipulations to move ahead on a 'fps shooter' but the 'overkill' of albinos just trashes all the virtues I just mentioned here.

They do become rather tedious but they aren't much of a threat for me even on v.hard, you can exploit scenery so they never hit you and you have access to perks/gear that make short work of them without much hassle or unnecessary ammo waste.

To me that are just like normal Rad Scorpions. They aren't tedious or anythin and of course comes to my favorite of pet peeve for people on here, always blaming Bethesda. Look not that Fallout 3 has no problems. It does but we shouldn't take it out on Beth. They simply tried to make a game people still enjoy. Besides. If you can do better. Where's your Fallout 3?

I have always found that the Gauss Rifle is the best weapon to use. It knocks them upside down and makes it easy to finish off. Providing there is only one, of course...

Then lob some Nuka Grenades as it struggles to rise. Job done!

Yeah at least the Albino Scorpions could have a reason for the extra hit points, like thicker chitin or something.

Swamp Folk on the other hand... :shakehead:
