Pipboy display is blank : Fallout: New Vegas

Hello! Whenever i open my pipboy the display remains blank, but the pipboy its self is there. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?

i verified the files twice they both told me 1 file was missing and would be recovered. it happens on all characters and fallout 3 as well

You don't have any mods installed at all? Disabled or otherwise?

Might try a clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

I wonder if it has to do with the gamma. What happens when you turn up the brightness?

Might also check video settings.

I tried adjusting the brightness and used different viewing angles. it didn't change it. I also tried the clean boot and re installed steam services. The pip boy remained blank. Im surprised i cant find anything like this on the internet

They mentions video settings. You would load AMD catalyst control center. You might also play with the game settings.

That is the settings in the game launcher. Try lowering them all down.

SUCCESS! The person mentioned lowering shadows but that didn't work, so i though id try messing around with the AMD vision control settings. I changed a few and i don't know which one did the trick so ill list them all.

1.SMOOTH VISION HD Anti-aliasing- Set to use application settings

2.SMOOTH VISION HD Anisotropic filtering- Set to use application settings

3.Tesselation- AMD optimized

4.This is the one that did it i think: Catalyst AI- Disable surface format optimization
