Bethesda brings you, The Elder Scrolls: Thank You!
The prestigious teams from Bethesda who spawned the Elder Scrolls are owed a great deal of respect. After twenty nine years in the business they are still going strong. I highly doubt I need to go into great detail about their exemplary game-making ability, and I want to get the thesis of this thread out in the open, so I'll continue onward with the discussion.
Almost every, if not all, "Council Members" here have fond childhood memories of The Elder Scrolls just as I do. You can look back and remember when you first woke up as a captive in one of Bethesdas calling card openings. Over the years you find that the Elder Scrolls games have affected your childhood more than you previously thought. For me, the Elder Scrolls were and still are a Creative Outlet. After completing the game in every way shape and form, I'd go back in and roleplay. When I was done roleplaying with the game I would put it on the shelf for a year and go back to it.
Over the course of 2014 and into 2015 I've gotten into the tabletop game dungeons and dragons. At first, I was such a die hard Elder Scrolls fan I thought it would be heresy to adopt this new game. Then I realized how similar they were. In december of 2014 I became a Dungeon Master for my own campaign. I realized while creating the campaign how much fun it must be to craft an Elder Scrolls game. Creating the breath taking landscape, aw-inspiring conflicts, memorable NPC's and the like. My appreciation for every bit of the Elder Scrolls Universe doubled after this.
So what is the thesis of this topic? My dearest Council Members, tis inspiration. After everything I've said remember that The Elder Scrolls have always been a "Role-Playing" Game. Whether it is the role you partake in on Nirn, or the Role you discover inside of yourself while playing on this magical celestial body. Creativity is at the heart of The Elder Scrolls. Every time you play in their universe, your creative blood flows threw it as well, and you can feel it, immerse yourself in it.
Take the creativeness from The Elder Scrolls. Withdraw the creativity you have put into the Elder Scrolls yourself and see how inspired you are to work on something of your own! I hope that by reading this, by remembering the things you've done with the help of The Elder Scrolls, you will understand that these games, these creative outlets for the game designers in Bethesda, are just as much for them as they are for you. Whether that was intentional or not is for Bethesda to know and me to ponder.
I owe much of my creativity to having the Elder Scrolls in my life as a child. I wouldn't be the Dungeon Master of Velirum's Realm if I had not been inspired by Bethesda and their creations. So thank you all for reading, and thank you bethesda for you creativity and inspiration to go above and beyond.
Your fan since April 24th, 2006.
