Command line options for oblivion?

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 11:23 am

Anyone know of a list of command line options for oblivion.exe? Not console commands or game controls, but oblivion.exe command line parameters, e.g. some games allow you to force a specific monitor refresh rate with a "- REFRESH xx" or similar option, etc.

We asked Bethesda and they referred us to the forums. Hard to believe even they don't have this info, but that's what they're claiming. Thanks in advance for any help.

Probably because there are not any, well, any specific ones.

I mean Full Screen or not is the most common switch, and the game gives that to you in options. There is no reason to change the memory map or anything else like in the DOS days. Today, Switches are mostly used in the Install part, not the operation of, an EXE. There might be some built in, but I bet they are hold overs from generic EXE Swtiches.

In any event, if this is information you need to find out for some reason, use the Process Explorer and see if there are in fact any Switches available for this program

Thanks for the suggestion. A glance through both oblivion and oblivionlauncher reveals nothing that looks like viable candidates. I think I'm confusing my memories of Oblivion with HL2 (I was playing both at the time), and HL2 does have quite a few command line options. It also would explain why Google has zilch on command line switches for Oblivion. :)
