Text Replacement in Messagebox

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 2:47 am

Hi,

can someone explain how the text replacement works?

So I have one quest with playeralias and actoralias.
The correct string in the messagebox is in this case is

; correct?
When I tried it only <...> is being displayed. Does this only works with a new game?
What is being displayed. The Relationship Level or the Association Type?

That won't work in the messagebox because there's no owning quest. I'm not sure if text replacement even works in messageboxes.

Messages can have owned quests and text replacements work for it. :) Otherwise the <...> wouldn't be dispayed.

As Matthias said your message object needs to be owned by your quest. Apart from that you need to tick "Stores Text" on both aliases.

It will display the association type, not the relationship level.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but is it possible to get text replacement onto a cell/cell name?

Not AFAIK. You might be able to use the SKSE function SetName but I don't think so.
