AI Data - Mood ?

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 10:03 am

Question about the AI Data - Mood setting ... To my understanding it will effect the expressions of the NPC. So Happy mood has smile and pleasant greeting, Angry will have scowl and rude comment. etc.

That works for NPC actors that are playable races, of course, even dragons have the face morphs to display the different emotions.

But, what about creatures like Draugr? Most are set to Neutral. What would happen if the actor did not have dialogue or correct face morphing for the Mood that is set? Would it CTD?

If anyone has more info on this or can point me to information I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

All it affects is the actor's default facial expression -- i.e., the expression the actor wears when not expressing a dialogue emotion.

Guess I should have clarified more ... I saw the "not used" on CK page - IF it is changed on an actor that can not show the expression (like a draugr) will this cause problems? Say the actors Mesh can't change from neutral to angry, could this cause problems? Or along the lines of that value not being used - Could changing the value cause problems?

Thanks

Well, if you're setting it via mood, there will be no issues. Because the mood has no effect in game. I've tried it - an NPC who was supposed to be "Happy" just was Neutral except in dialogue where it was specified otherwise.

Your answer is it's fine, but if you're worried why not test it?

So it's more used for dialogue text ... "Farmer was feeling about his crops." - or however the command would look.

I did do simple tests - but, had to get some info on it.......

Thanks guys,

It's set per each response and in the window that comes up when writing a response.
