TESCOSI is Back!

Post » Wed Mar 11, 2015 6:31 pm

Tomlong's http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/tescosi/Main_Page has been restored in full and is now hosted on The Assimilation Lab.

What is it?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with TESCOSI, it's a wiki that http://www.gamesas.com/user/394535-tomlong75210/ set up for mod users of all levels. She compiled a great deal of information and the wiki was often referenced by people trying to get things up and running or when helping others. Then Real Life came along and Tomlong had to shut the site down. When she announced that it would be going offline, deaths_soul grabbed an export of the entire wiki. We have now restored the wiki and are hosting it in our wiki family on The Assimilation Lab.

Help for All Mod Users

TESCOSI has tons of information for beginners and those who have been using mods for years. Tomlong even built the only comprehensive guide I've ever seen on the proper order for installing mods - something that is often overlooked. TESCOSI also explains the different kinds of mods, how to post your load order, how to install FCOM... The list is extensive.

Contributing

You will need to register on http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/tescosi/Main_Page if you wish to contribute. Please note that the wiki is separate from the TAL forums, so you don't need to register on TAL itself. We still have a few links to fix and we need to restore some images, but the wiki is complete and is ready for use.

That is fantastic news! Tescosi was probably the single most helpful wicki I ever found when I was looking for answers. Was sad to see it go and glad to see it back up again.

We might. It would probably fall to me to do it and my slate is pretty full right now. It took me over a month just to restore the wiki! :P

I noticed that some of the links do not exist anymore or the article is missing. Is it okay for you guys if I edit it so that all links that involves textures can be linked to the texture guide I mentioned before? If Anda prefers to do it herself that's fine too. :)

I don't think Anda wouldn't mind, so go ahead and add the texture guide link.

Please do! I do need to enable subpages first though. Tomlong used subpages and so some stuff is broken until I make that fix.

Okay... I could do that. I'll be more than glad to contribute something to this wonderful modding community. :)

Okay... I deleted the link to TOTO and inserted TESTG instead. Also I updated the link to TOQL. So far that's all I can think of because I'm not an expert, just an experienced mod user.

Edit: Added TES4LODGen and TES4LL in the utilities section.

And the work continues. The sidebar has been reorganized and a lot of stuff has been cleaned up.
