For all the lore geeks...

Let me start off by saying that I played FO1 and FO3. I liked FO1 because its mechanics were interesting to me when it first came out. I loved FO3 because it was FPS, open-world, but still retained the turn-based targeted attacks that I loved about FO1 but the lack of depth was noticeable, to say the least. Despite that I pumped in about 200 hours of gameplay including 2 DLCs (Point Lookout and Broken Steel). New Vegas didn't *wow* me. The FPS open-world had already been done, I found the setting less interesting than the Capital Wasteland, and the bugs... ugh... don't get me started on the bugs.

However, over the course of 4 years or so, I've played it on and off, usually rage quitting when the Xbox would lock up on a loading screen that would subsequently corrupt my autosave thus setting me back by about 1 - 2 hours or a really long broken quest that could not be resolved without loading a previous save and doing it all over again. Recently, a few weeks ago, I decided to pick up where I had left off (right after my conversation with Yes Man on the Strip).

I must say that, after investing another 20 hours or so in the last few weeks, that New Vegas *is* in fact, much deeper and richer than FO3. No argument there. It's not the setting that's attractive to me, it's the ever branching story and quests that actually affect everything around you upon completion. The map *looks* smaller than FO3, but it *feels* larger because of the amount of content.

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that, for the people, siding with and helping the NCR is the best choice that can be made. They are obviously flawed, but I see them as the best of a really bad lot. Initially, I was going to go the Independent route but started to realise I'd be setting myself as the new Mr. House and wouldn't be helping anyone outside of my own little microcosm in a developing world that needs help. The dilemma: I like the BoS. I don't particularly like their means to achieve the noble end of regulating pre-war weaponry so as to not allow for a repeat. However, screwed up they allow themselves to get, they have good intentions. That said, I don't think they deserve to be exterminated... and that's just what the NCR is asking me to do. Now, before you say anything, I've already caused a change of leadership in the BoS. From what I've read, at this point, if I want to help the NCR, I have no choice but to carry out their request. My faithful followers are and have been Veronica and ED-E, who was upgraded by the BoS. ED-E won't give a crap, but Veronica will. Does this means curtains for my relationship? I don't particularly like this dilemma so it may just tip me back to the Independent side of things. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions?

This is probably gonna get moved to the spoilers section.

I will say it is possible for you to destroy the BoS, without losing Veronica as a companion.
