Post » Fri Mar 13, 2015 8:31 am

For those ones who might be interested in mod-making with Blender 2.7+ I proud to introduce this pack of tools.

Nexus:

What you be able to do with this tools pack (how it supposed to be used):

- import mesh from NIF file to Blender need to be done through OBJ (by "Nifskope")
- export mesh from Blender to NIF file need to be done through OBJ (I recommend to use "Mesh Injector" for this purpose)
(with "Mesh Injector" you will get an ability to export "Vertex Color")

- import skin from NIF file to Blender (by "Skin Extractor")
- export skin from Blender to NIF file (by "Skin Injector")

- import skeleton from NIF file to Blender (by "Skeleton Extractor")
- export skeleton from Blender to NIF file - not supported

- creation and export new NPC animation from Blender to HKX file (by "Animation (with IK Armature)")
- import existing NPC animation to Blender - not supported

- creation new and modification existing morphs (by "TRI editor")

- creation and export animated mesh with its own animation, skin and skeleton from Blender to NIF file (by "Mesh Animator")

I love your tools, Anton!

I'm not sure why you have an import/export via object files though. There's a niftools importer that can handle Skyrim meshes as is. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the purpose...

Thanks, I am glad to hear this !
As far as I know NifTools works only with Blender 2.49. My tools designed to work with new version 2.7+. There are huge difference in Blender between these versions.

There are a few development branches kicking around, I don't know exactly which one I'm currently using in blender 2.72, but https://github.com/neomonkeus/blender_nif_plugin/tree/refactor/texture_system seems to be the latest out there.

Edit: I'm not saying you did all that for nothing though, you might have some features not currently in niftools. I'll have to give your tools a try later on if I start tinkering with meshes again :)
